Disappointed in the campsites. Not much privacy and really cater to RVs and not campers. Difficult fot older campers with limited abilities to maneuver from card to camp site(tent) without use of stairs or ramp and street parking only. We needed a site with level ground and were told we could not use an RV site although a few others with disabilities were doing the same type of camping ad us, finally had to show the host the others who were camping as we wished to and at last he allowed us our site since we have disabilities also. The camp host was very un accommodating and would not allow us to purchase our Golden age pass or discount our site. He sent us to park headquarters and they told us all camp grounds sold the seniors pass. Waste of our day, discount and time! There were very few people in Cosby at the time we were there. Just a grumpy, non helpful camp host at the registration gate. We loved Cosby but are disappointed in the lack of privacy between campsites!

Very quiet, secluded and nice campground. Prepare for zero cell (Verizon) and no distractions. We had site a21 with our small camper 18 feet long and were a bit tight length wise. Not for larger RVs. Boondocking was fine. Our site was at trailhead for Henswallow Falls trail. Bathroom was close and very clean. Nice experience.

We have camped here numerous times. Love the space between sites.
The camp hosts were VERY welcoming and so nice (Pat and Richard)....however we found you "park rangers very cold, border line rude and could of cared less that we were there! We would of selected a better campsite as we were right at the start of a trail, thus not much privacey. We probably would go back to Elkmond in the Smokes next time. We have been in the National Forest campground three times, our first at Cosby.

This campground was awesome. The site we stayed at had a stream right next to it, so we had the most amazing ambient noise to sleep to. Even on Labor Day weekend, Friday & Saturday night the neighbors kept it down by no later than 11pm which I really appreciated since I don’t stay up too late especially since it was a holiday weekend too. The campsites are definitely a bit on top of each other & not very private, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay for sure!

Cosby was a beautiful, peaceful and pretty quiet campground. Not as crowded as some of the other Great Smoky Mountain campgrounds. Our only criticism is we'd like some better descriptions of the hiking trails. Maybe a difficulty rating? Otherwise great experience!

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
