The campground was very nice and the weather was gorgeous. That was the problem that kept me from giving the trip and excellent. We are used to having a very empty campground on that last weekend. One year there were only three sites in use of the 132 available, and that included the campground host. Of course ,it had snowed some earlier that week. This year, with sunshine and temps in the 70's there were lots and lots of campers. Oh well, maybe it will sleet next year. :-)

Campground not taken care of, prices with my handicap card, went up double in price. We go there all the time..this place is so run down and no camp host. I go there in October think of canceling my reservation because of the way this place is kept and price going up double, extremely disappointed

Bathrooms were very nice and most people are respectful of the quiet hours

A beautiful spot to camp! We loved the quietness of this campground - lots of space between campsites, and people were generally respectful and friendly. We'd camp here again and again! A few minor things that could improve: - Bathrooms were great and cleaned during the week, but over the weekend were not maintained - with a larger number of people using them during those days, garbage started to overflow and toilet paper was empty. - Bear boxes at each site would be fantastic to avoid having to take everything with us everywhere we went.Something to note would be that this campground is 30 minutes from the main entrance to the park, and we had to travel through Gatlinburg to get to several of the hikes we wanted to do. Not a big deal if you head out early in the morning (before 8:00 a.m.) but after that, traffic is bumper-to-bumper both ways. Even with this, we'd choose this secluded campground over the others due to the beauty and quiet! We loved it - it was tough to leave!

Camp site was quiet and far away from the business of the main entrance. Size of the camp site was adequate and trails were great!

Our favorite campground. Very quiet and peaceful. Usually, this time of the year there are very few campers. This year, due to sewer problems at Elkmont, there were more campers.

Beautiful, quiet and clean campground in the Smokies. Wish we had been able to spend more than one night. The entrance is on one of the less developed sides of the park, so be prepared with groceries and firewood before you drive through the small towns to get to the park. We were only able to find one place to buy firewood in Cosby. The bathhouse was very clean.

Our visit was fine except for one noisy neighbor next to us who spoke very loud continually apparently unaware of her obnoxiousness.

This is a very large campground, but very few of the campsites are suitable for anything but a tent. When, we were younger, and real campers, that was one of the things we liked about it. Now that we're much older and in a small trailer that does make getting a campsite here a bit more of a challenge. However, this campground is off the beaten track and very quiet and peaceful, so we make the effort.
