Cades Cove Campground is great. It is bustling with activity and has everything you might need at the camp store (including ice cream). It definitely doesnt provide that off the grid feeling except that the phone service is poor or nonexistent. Otherwise there are many people and RVs and kids playing- its a lot of fun. The firewood sold at the camp store is great, the sites are big and shaded, and being on Cades Cove Loop is so nice. I would recommend driving the loop early on the day if thats something you want to do, it gets crowded quickly. The Abrams Falls Trail at the opposite corner of the loop is a great hike, and we saw a black bear on the drive to the trailhead :)

The leaves were beautiful! The campground was clean and well kept. The rangers at the station were helpful and welcoming. We tried an evening drive around the loop. Sunset made the trees and fields flow! What wonderful experience!

My Family Loves Cades Cove !! We camp multiple times every year. My wifes grandparents started the tradition over 50 years ago and were keeping it going. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the ice cream is amazing.

Spiders in the bathroom scared my girlfriend and she didn't poop the whole trip. Other than that 5 stars

Experience was lacking, to say the least. Campsites are not setup well compared to other campgrounds in the park. Park employees driving past 4 times in the first hour looking for something to be wrong is not relaxing. Friend was written citation for not storing cooler, stating that there was food and "opened" alcohol in it....both statements which are false, as there was "unopened" root beer and ginger ale. Clearly ranger Rick did not bother looking in the cooler. But fine, will take the L on that one-we didn't store the cooler. But then to confiscate all of our paper plates, plastic silverware and zip lock bags, all of which were unused and still in original packaging, stating that we "did not clean up trash".....what a joke. I have loved every experience in GSMNP (4/5 trips per year), but this experience was very disappointing. Will never stay at Cades Cove again and will not recommend to friends.
