This site is beside the trail to the bathroom but its not so close that you feel people are walking through your spot. Trees and brush in the back offered fall colors, privacy and wildlife viewing- deer and turkeys. We love Cades Cove Campground.Camping here allows for easy access to the loop via hiking/walking which is our favorite way to enjoy the 11 mile loop.Appreciate having the general store for wood, milk and eggs and of course ice cream cones!

Camp sites are very close to each other and often difficult to get in.

Thanks so much for closing the loop to car traffic on Wednesdays. It was so enjoyable to ride our bikes around the loop without navigating cars!

No water or electric hookups. Some what more primitive than comparable state parks. Bath houses could use updating. Appeared over used & under funded.

Wednesday bike day around the Cades Cove loop made the trip. Deer, fox, turkey, and bear all in just over an hour. Its such a shame the facilities are circa 1980s with some rv sites all but unusable since the pads were put down as a 5 degree slope. Absolutely no power available, no shower facilities and no plans to leave the 1980s.

Might I suggest a dumping service for campers. Twice a week would be good

We had a lot of trouble backing into our site because of obstacles in the way(large rock , tree and a neighbors truck). But the site was spacious and the fall foliage was lovely. The campground and bathrooms were clean and well kept. Enjoyed our time there!

Loved our visit to the Smokies! Make sure to drive the Cades Cove loop at dusk. We saw several bears each evening
The colors of the fall foliage was beyond description of beautiful, amazing, incredible. Just driving in to Cades Cove was so overwhelming that we weren’t sure we’d need to go any where else. The rides around Cades Cove proved so exciting bears and bear cubs we saw, in addition to the coyote, and deer. A truly wonderful experience with friends and family!
Driving the loop multiple times, with the opportunity to see so many bears was the highlight of this trip! The campground store located at the campground was convenient on multiple levels. Good to have bathrooms at the campground, however they were not clean.
Very nice campground with plenty of space between sites. Ours was level and clean. Had a great experience talking with a ranger who came by. Only downsides of this campground are the lack of hookups and no showers. One of the water filling / dump stations was not working so we had to wait a while to fill the fresh water tank upon arrival. We had no delay dumping upon departure.
The friendly ranger suggested hikes, which is what we came for. The trails were marvelous.

The information I read online and in the local "newspaper" stated that the sites are first come first serve late in the season, however, they have gone to a reservation only year round it would appear. The rangers manning the reservation desk were kind of hit and miss on being there, and even when he showed up, I was still directed to use the local phone to call for reservations. The .gov call in site was extremely helpful and easy to use.

Cades Cove campground is really nice except for the generator noise. Campers will start their generators then just leave the campground while their unattended generator runs for 8 hours or more. If the park service would put 2 hour generator time limits in place along with only allowing inverter generators, which are much quieter than the standard construction site generators, then Cades Cove would be much more enjoyable. There is a generator free loop but the sites are mainly tent sites and the sites are much smaller than the generator loop. Also, the rangers ignore the unattended generators and the extra loud ones. I use a quiet inverter generator, as did most of the campers at Cades Cove, and I have never had to run it more than a couple of hours a day for a fifth wheel to keep my batteries fully charged. 50 away you cant even hear my generator. If you need to run a generator for 8 hours straight or you have a loud construction site generator then you are going to be the one who gets generators completely banned in the future for all of us. As of Jan 1, 2021 the Hiwassee / Ocoee Scenic River State Park in Tennessee will be banning all generators in their campground just because of loud and continuous generator usage. They restricted generator usage to a short time but that was still abused so they will ban them completely on 1-1-21. Common sense is not very common any more especially in dry camping situations with cheap Walmart generators readily available. If youre running your generator more than 2 hours a day then you either have a low output charger or old batteries that are worn out and wont hold a charge. But regardless in a few years more campgrounds will ban generators if this isnt brought under control now.

The staff at the Ranger's Station and Camp Store were helpful, friendly, and well informed. The sites are great too. Most are spacious and have concrete pads for RVs and cars. The tent pads are big, level and gravel. We stayed 11 days and will be back as soon as we can!The Cove Loop Road is a great attraction, but the horseback riding and carriage rides are good too. "Debbie" was our carriage ride driver. She was fantastic!

Clean and well managed..it would be better if Fees paid were kept in the park system to improve infrastructure..but not a national priority...Sadly.

Site upgrades have made number of sights available for larger RV's more limited, other wise we enjoy coming to cades cove and being able to disconnect

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
