We love camping at Cades. Wednesdays are the best with no cars on the loop!

A quick overnight stay was all it took for us to start planning our next stay at Cades Cove! Round and round the 11 mile loop we went again and again. No bears, but so many deer. In warmer weather we will definitely take our bikes. The only downfall is no cell reception. Our paper directions accidentally were used as firestarter and we made one wrong turn leaving the mountain and instantly got off our route(also the day of the big ATT outtage). The campground was clean and campers were courteous. Check-in station closed early so we went right to our site. Also couldnt get wood. Be sure to check hours in off-season.

Overall this is a wonderful campground. However, you do need to be aware that there are no hookups and no shower facilities so you will definitely need to plan accordingly.

Arrived on a Tues. night, 8/29/23, rode our bikes around the loop on Wednesday, no cars except a ranger vehicle. The campground was not even half full. We did encounter a bear at the edge of the campground on Tuesday evening and saw a mother and 2 cubs from a safe distance when biking the cove on Wed. Hiked the half mile trail to the Elijah Oliver Place and had the whole place to ourselves. Pretty amazing for what is often said to be the busiest NP in the country.

We stayed on B-21 with our 22-ft camper conversion from Monday 10/31 - Fri 11/4/22. Our site was a tent site, but we were able to comfortably situate our van for our stay. The site was orderly and we liked the extra distance between our firepit and the site next to ours, as it offered a bit of privacy. The flush toilets were operable and mostly clean, though hand soap was not restocked after it was emptied. We made use of the outside dishwashing sink. It would have been convenient to have a table or shelf to place dishes on as we cleaned, but we managed. Understand this is a primitive campground and no hookups are present at sites, though there is potable water located at the dump stations. We were disappointed the Wednesday closure of the loop to motor traffic had ended in September, so we were limited to riding our bicycles within the campground as the loop was unsafe with the daily vehicle traffic. The campground store was well stocked. All staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful. The wildlife we were able to view on our camper cruises around the 11-mile loop was ample, though the long waits in traffic were not pleasant. Overall, we enjoy our trips to the CCCG and look forward to returning soon.

Cades Cove Campground was a very nice campground. The sites are roomy and ours was pretty level. The campground was pretty quiet when we were there. The only bothersome thing was that some campers close by had some rather annoying lights on in the evening. They did turn them off at about 10:00 though. We did not use the bathrooms, so I cannot comment on them. They were a ways away from our site. It would have been a trek in the middle of the night if we were tent camping. The campground is located right at the entrance to Cades Cove loop and traffic getting in and out was sometimes difficult.

Cades Cove campground is our favorite campground within a day's drive. It is well maintained. The sites are large and mostly level. The fire ring is a welcome benefit. The drive around cades cove loop is so popular, it is advisable to drive or bike the loop beginning very early, such as 0700.

Weather was beautiful and trips around the cove only took about 1 hour. Campsites are nice, large and separated. Would be nice to have some cell service there.

Lovely campground that brings back many fond childhood memories! I have always had a great time here and believe that Cades Cove is one of the most beautiful places in the blue ridge mountains. Lots of magic to be found in this valley.
