Unfortunately bad weather closed the roads so we were not able to get into the park. We have camped there many times and were sad to miss it.

Camping at Cades Cove was an amazing experience. Although we visited in the winter, I was pleased with the extra information and fact sheets that this campground provided us with. I felt very safe and informed during my stay. Additionally, we drove the Scenic Route that was practically part of the campground. It was the perfect beginning to our numerous hikes within the National Park. Definitely don't underestimate the views and experience of going to this National Park during the winter:)

in summer Cades Cove loop is closed to motorized vehicles on Wednesday. beautiful drive when everything is green and beautiful drive when leaves are changing. Bears and other wild life are sighted often.

Very busy, group Christian campers set up a “pray with me” sign outside the main camp bathrooms, and vending that made us a bit uncomfortable and led to us avoiding the area. The same large group of campers also made a large amount of noise at night trekking back to their group camp relatively late. This could probably be avoided if we picked a spot further from group camping. This was our first time camping at Cades Cove and if we stay again in the future we’ll try to pick a hopefully quieter spot with a little less foot traffic towards the back of the campground.

What an amazing place!! We drove the loop several times while we camped but the best ride was on our bikes on Wednesday when the loop was closed to cars. Townsend was a great community to visit as well. Can’t wait for a return trip in the future!

Friendly folks in the campground. Beautiful setting. We loved the Cades Cove loop and saw wild animals (bears, deer, turkeys). A few bears even in the campground. Had a great horseback riding trip at the stable. Kids had a blast playing in the creek. Not far from Townsend restaurants. No showers so only planned to stay for two nights.

Great place to visit. We enjoyed seeing the bears as we rode on the loop.

The NPS has taken a counter productive stance on campground services. The result is a movement towards large recreational vehicles with onboard showers and internal combustion generators. This was especially evident at Cades Cove.

Great clean site in a beautiful area! Only suggestion is better marked road signs to make finding the site easier.

We loved the quiet campground and easy access to the Cades Cove loop. Having a concrete parking pad, firepit and picnic table was especially nice.

Stayed one night at site B19 - great location, close to store & close to trails. Biked the 11 mile loop, it was awesome! Bought the last 2 bundles of wood around 5:30, so bring wood from Townsend just in case (it is a little cheaper too!). Beautiful campground!

Great place to get away from technology, great hiking, but no dogs allowed on trails in GSMNP.

We visit Cades Cove every year and it is always an excellent memorable experience. The kids enjoy seeing the bears on the loop and we were certainly not disappointed this year. Every time we did the loop we were lucky to see mamas and cubs. It's nice that the loop is closed to auto traffic all day Wednesday and the kids biked the loop. Clingmans Dome is a must do.
The folks in the bike shop are fantastic and go out of their way to make sure everyone has what they need. They are also very organized and able to handle crazy busy Wednesdays!
The only complaint this year was the store closing at 5 PM. This is very inconvenient and disappointing. The only items available after 5 are ice and wood. Please leave the store open like it has always been.
We did notice fewer staff around the campground and even though they added soap dispensers to the bathrooms the dispenser was empty the whole week.
Not sure why there were no activities this year. I understand Covid but all the previous activities were held outside and the store was frequently packed with unmasked people. We missed the talks in the pavillion and the night walk.
Overall we love Cades Cove and will continue to visit every year.

A really great campground, overall. Sites are pretty close together, and not very private at all, but it didn't really matter, because the facilities are well-maintained and monitored. Its biggest advantage is its proximity to the Cades Cove Loop drive. Getting up early and starting the drive before the hordes of other people flooded in was the smartest decision of my entire trip.
