Love staying so close to the loop-we were able to go in so much more often and we were rewarding with seeing so many bears! All of the rangers that we encountered were very friendly and the campsite was large and had plenty of trees help it feel more private.

We were there for the fall colors and they did not disappoint. The park was crowded but the campground was nice. Cades Cove loop was bumper to bumper traffic. I wish they would consider a hop on off electric vehicle like some of the other National Parks like Zion. I think it would help the environment and maybe get more viewings of wildlife.

Absolutely awesome blocking loop to traffic on Wednesday! I have recommended this camp spot to many people since I have been home. Also, all Park attendants were just wonderful! Will definitely think about a return visit!

Had one man approach my wife..... said he hoped that our dogs don't bark too much, that he came camping for peace and quiet....next day had another man comment that we had the most well mannered dogs that he had ever seen.... Hope that the first one got his peace and quiet ??

Campground was nice and quiet, with some space between campsites. Several great hikes you can get to from the campground.

Cades Cove campground was the noisiest campground I have ever camped at. I was there 14 nights and most nights were full of noisy campers. Campers would show up at 11:00pm and stand around laughing, talking, slamming car doors until 1:00am. Late arrivals would holler at each other while tying to set up camp. Took two hours to set up a POPUP camper, plus slamming doors and dropping boxes the whole time. I have been to many campground where Late arrivals were NOT permitted, due to respect to campers already settled in for the night, such at Baxter state park in Maine and in the Adirondacks, Sure wish the National park service would adapt such a policy

In June 2021 we RV camped in the Cades Cove Campground for 3 days. Campground is well maintained with spacious and fairly level concrete parking pads. The RV dump station is well spaced with 3 dump stations.
One of the great benefits is the proximity of the Cades Cove 11 mile loop road which we drove 6 times. Such beautiful sights.
Be aware that no matter what time of day, traffic can back up on the one way loop due to bear sightings. It can be a real problem. Also, it must be the local custom for inebriated local juveniles to ride the loop in the bed of pick up trucks.
We were there during the Wednesday bicycle only day. Biking around the cove without autos is a great experience. Park service brought in extra employees to manage the hundreds of cars competing for the limited parking space. The road leading into the Cove was crowded with cars parked on the shoulder of the road. We saw cars being towed away for illegal parking or some infraction.
Park Service employees were very courteous and helped us make adjustments to our reservations. Covid restrictions have been relaxed but Ranger led programs have not resumed.
Campground store is well equipped for campers and the employees were very courteous in dealing with the crowds.

Would give 5 stars but, there were bed bugs at campsite.
Other than that, It is great location - right next to the stables, store, bike rental shop, and Cade's Cove Loop road.
The bike shop gives campers the opportunity to pay a 4 hour rate for 24 hours with the bikes (so you can get them the night before and not have to wait in line at 6 am).
Would recommend but also bring bed bug detectors.
