Cades Cove NEVER disappoints but it would be great if visitors would stop littering inside the park so much, anywhere really. Also, I would love to use the new hand dryer in the back bathroom in section C. Hook it up!! :)

We love camping in Cades Cove surrounded by beautiful nature and have been camping in CC for 50 years as we grew up in Knoxville. Made reservations months ago as usual for our annual trip in May. Very sadly, we didnt learn until firm plans set and bikes rented that they pushed back the car free wednesdays until mid June. Very disappointing as the main reason we make the trip in May before school is out and campground less crowded. Loop jam packed as usual with cars, trucks, vans but we managed to ride with the flow but a lot less pleasant. Hopefully this will change back next year. Know it hurt our favorite bike rental shops business as well.

Have been camping in this campground for 55 years. I know things change but I would like to see the following happen in the campground and loop road experience...
1.) Ice and firewood are ridiculously over priced especially since the wood is usually green.
2.) Lady's room in lower section C, stall #2 needs an actual lock not a nail on a string.
3.) Store needs to remain open until at least 7pm.
4.) Loop road needs to be monitored better for traffic/bear jams.
5.) Rangers (law enforcement) should drive around the campground more throughout the night to enforce quiet hours.
6.) EVERY year, in June, the mini motorcycles ride through the campground well after quiet hours. WHERE IS LAW ENFORCEMENT???
7.) Soap dispensers in women's room needs soap continuously.
Good change...
*love the new sink on the back of section C's upper restroom.

Love the Smokies! Staff was very friendly and helpful. There needs to be a walking route around the Cades Cove loop away from the cars. Perhaps an electric trolley tour around the loop would cut down on car exhaust pollution.

Plan early. Lot's to do withing a 50 mile radius. Roller coasters, water parks, restaurants, waterfalls, wilderness hiking, bears, elk, etc... You simply cannot do it all in one visit. If you are the outdoor type, Cades Cove itself is great for keeping busy a couple of days. This campground was easily accessible and clean when we arrived.

Quiet hours are definitely not enforced in the campground. If you are a light sleeper, it may be a bit too noisy for you. Otherwise, everything was great. The sites could use some TLC and updating, but the staff were amazing, restrooms were clean and in good working order, store was well stocked, and horseback riding was great. Expect long waits for horseback rides, though, especially on weekends. People were lined up an hour before they opened. If you plan to drive the loop, please follow the rules, obey the speed limit, dont stop in the road or approach the wildlife, and be courteous to others. Its so frustrating to be staying at the campground and have day users come in and ignore the rules. Be prepared to practice patience during your stay. It can be wonderful but dont expect solitude anywhere in the cove.

We have camped at the Cades Cove Campground many times. It is one of my favorite places to camp. My wife and I have a 24' pull-behind RV and fits most campsites in the campground. We like the way that many of the campsites have been updated with new concrete semi-level pads. The sites are fairly large and have good shade. The campground is located in one of the most beautiful areas in the Smoky Mountains. There are no hookups except for very low voltage on some handicapped sites. There are two areas; generator and non-generator sides. we prefer the non-generator area. Its much quieter but you have to plan differently when you camp. We take an extra deep cycle battery if we are going to camp more than a few days so we can run our refrigerator and water pump longer for showers, cleaning dishes and using our RV restroom. We also bring battery powered lanterns for lights at night to conserve our main RV battery. It is worth it to us to enjoy the quiet peaceful side of the campground. On our last trip we saw several bears come through the camp but they were not very interested in sticking around but was a very nice to experience. If you camp there make sure you take your bike and ride around the 11 mile loop on Wednesdays when cars are not permitted on the loop. There are some challenging hills but its easy to walk your bike up the steep ones and sometimes its best to walk your bike down some steep downhill places also. Overall I give the Cades Cove Campground 5 Stars. I plan on making this park my go to place for many years.

Such a beautiful spot in mid-November. We went tent camping for three nights and hiked during the day. C-22 had lot of privacy and was near the bathrooms. Things got quiet earlier than Smokemont, where quiet time starts at 6. Plenty of trees to hang a hammock. The nature trail is definitely worth an afternoon stroll. I would definitely recommend sites C-21 and C-22.

Had trouble with our equipment and received immediate assistance from park volunteers, rangers, and random strangers. Great site. Perfect weather. Only issue was bathroom reeked of a cat litter type smell that was nauseating. Loop was gridlocked on Saturday afternoon. Much less traffic on Sunday.
