Just be aware that the campground is BEFORE the Cade CoVe loop....we ended up going all the way around the loop with our trailer?? And be aware that it is a LONG way in to the campground. Guess I didn't pay enough attention to the map. Also, no hookups but the bathrooms were quite fine and it was beautiful. The camp store is very fun but also quite expensive. Overall, an interesting time! Highlight was seeing 2 black bears on the loop - which Ade it all worth while!

We stayed in early September in site C17 and then a few days later in site C30. Site C17 was by far our favorite as it's across from a wooded area with a nature trail and the site is quite level. Site C30 was also nice, but no direct woods view and more of an incline. Both sites are very near the bathrooms. We also stayed a couple of nights in Elkmont campground and have to say that Cades Cove was by far our favorite and the place we'd camp again on a future visit. This is because of the Cades Cove camp store that offers hot food (hot dogs, chili, pizza, bbq sandwiches, hamburgers, etc.) as well as lots of snacks and grocery items, and the bathrooms at the camp store have hand soap (although they close at night). As far as the negative. We knew there were no showers, just sinks with cold water and flush toilets. We came prepared for that. However, the bathrooms are filthy. I'm not sure what the park service cleaning routine is, but it seemed non-existent to us. We suspect they empty trash (in the bathrooms that have trash cans) and that's it. You also need to know that there's no hand soap in the campground bathrooms. We learned that since these facilities need to remain available to campers 24/7 this is the way it has to be due to bears who will come in the restrooms because of the soap. We wanted to mention it so others can come prepared to carry a small soap with them.

Campsite c17 was in perfect shape when we arrived. The first night was so quiet but then we got new neighbors and the quiet was quickly over. Quiet hours are not enforced at all. The bathrooms were clean. Other than the noise from the neighbors it was great. There is poison ivy EVERYWHERE so just be aware of that.

Camping right next to Cades Cove with all of its wildlife, trails and historic structures is always enjoyable. I love to ride my bike on the loop road and spend a lot of time on Sparks Lane and Hyatt Lane. I saw several bears on this trip including a mama with 3 cubs, as well as many turkeys and deer. The restrooms were clean and the campsites are not too crowded. I appreciated having WiFi to stay in touch with family. I do wish there was a greater ranger presence - Congress needs to better fund the National Park Service!

We loved the beauty, simplicity and quite of camping in Cades Cove. We’re planning on coming again and staying longer. Thanks for a great campground. The only negative is the traffic in the cove loop road.
