The site itself was pretty nice, even had a bit of space compared to most of the sites in Cade's Cove. However it does have one major flaw: Proximity to the maintenance buildings. Doesn't sound like such a bad thing ... until the workers are roaring in with their hemi equipped trucks and their high-beams shining into your tent at 5:30 in the morning.I guess they have to get to work early so they don't get caught in the traffic jam of day-trippers queuing up at the loop road gate two hours before sunrise.Avoid sites C01-C06 unless you sleep like a stone.

Cades Cove is a great campground! Ice cream at the store is a must!

My family loves coming here. We love the nature, the quietness, and most of all the beauty on Cades Cove Loop. We can’t wait to book another camping trip.

Probably a continuing problem with all state and federal campgrounds but something needs to be done about people reserving campsites and then not showing up. Too many open campsites yet we’re told every campsite is reserved. Penalties to those who do not cancel in a reasonable time seems appropriate.

Best by far was Wednesday morning “no cars on the loop” day. Rode it 3 times in peace and quiet.
Campsites with no electric are a big negative as generators run all day somewhere within earshot. That is a really bad camping experience and feels like one is camping at a truck stop. State parks everywhere have a far better ambiance with water/electric and basic bathhouse. I never want to stay longer than 2/3 days in any national park as the whole camping/cooking/showering activity is just negative and a big hassle. No electrical outlets anywhere. Have to run a generator to charge an e-bike.... really?? What can be environmental in that!! Hate that no alterations to campsite reservations can be made by local office staff. Everything through Rec.gov is a hassle with impossible waits for phone service. We had one campsite for two nights, then had to move for final 3rd night... yet, half the campsite spaces looked empty. I think the public needs to get sick of national parks for a while and give them a rest... everything looks tired and worn out and sloppy. Too many day trippers.... concessions serve nothing but garbage: soda, candy, chips and pizza and most of the hoards that visit are obese and I guess crave that junk. Then they throw all the plastic and wrappers on the ground. State parks everywhere are doing a much better job, sorry to say.....

Be aware that the restrooms at the camp store are closed when the store closes.

Good hacking because all the leaves of the trees see so much moreOf the landscape
