Camping and hiking in the GSMNP is always a great experience. Smokemont campground was relatively quiet at night and facilities clean.thanks to the hardworking staff.

We tent-camped to hike the trails & fish. Campground staff is excellent. Adequate amenities and very clean. Zero issues or problems with this location. We did see an adult black bear DEEP in the woods down Bradley Fork, so do heed all warnings and clean up/store food properly. Awesome place, we'll be back (45yo male, 13 yo son)

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It is clean, flat-I even had a pull-through paved site. I love the little creek that runs through the park.

Great place to camp and clean. Have camped there over the years but do wish they would bring ranger les interpretive programs back to the campground. Should make wearing bike helmets mandatory as kids were zooming around campground roads all day but saw only one wearing a helmet.

We had a wonderful experience! My family has stayed at the Smokemont Campground every year around the 4th of July since 1962. This year we had 38 family members who all stayed in the D Loop. My daughter learned to ride her bicycle without training wheels 25 years ago and this year my grandson learned how to ride his bicycle without training wheels. We always enjoy the Occonoluftee Visitor Center and Mingus Mill. We enjoy all the attractions Cherokee has to offer including shopping, panning for gold, and the Museum of the Cherokee Indians. The visitor center and the Mill are free and the Museum is a very reasonable cost. It's wonderful to be able to get together and enjoy this wonderful area.
