We had a great camping trip, The site was perfect it had alot of shade, it was quiet, the bathroom was close. The campsite was right across the street from the water. My kids had a great time riding bikes all over the campground and playing in the water. We will definitely camp here again

Beautiful, quiet campground area with hiking trails. No showers but the restrooms were very nice, hope to come back and camp in the future.

The camp grounds are really open so you can see all of the other campers around you, but we were never disturbed by anyone around us. The bathroom was always really clean. Trails around the camp are beautiful! Highly recommend.

We have been coming to Smokemont for several years because it is a great campground. Being shaded and having the creek run through keeps it cooler. There are several trails in the area that range from moderate to fairly strenuous. If a person is interested in rafting, the Tuckaseegee and Nantahala rivers are about 30-40 minutes away. Keep in mind that there are no showers at this campground so a person would have to go outside the park to find one.

We had a wonderful weekend of camping with 3 generations of extended family members in October 2019. Beautiful fall color, lots of elk, the visitors center, short hikes, and other nearby points of interested were enjoyed by all.

I did some research online and it was EVERY BIT what I wanted. It was QUIET, and great for the first timer family camping. (Single family) WILL BE BACK SOON.
