Very clean and well kept. Good location near the main road thru the park and close to visitor center and nearby town. More expensive than other campsites within the same park, and each site was smaller than campsites at other campgrounds, but still not bad for the price. Biggest downside was no showers, but there are still toilets and clean running water.

The campground was overall excellent, however the campsites here are notably less spaced out than other NPS and state park campgrounds that I've visited and it felt like I was almost on top of my neighbors. If you are going to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge I highly advise to follow @SmokiesRoadsNPS on Twitter so you are notified if they close / plan to close US 441 (the road that you can take to get to this campground) because otherwise you are in for a 2+ hour detour and have to enter through the Cherokee, NC entrance which we had to do- our neighboring campsite also got stuck on the other side and ended up having to stay in a hotel instead of taking the very long detour. If you drive towards Gatlinburg on 441 you can get cell service on some of the mountain pull-offs- you won't have any in the campground at all. I liked that they had an AED and Emergency phone on the main office at the front of the campground however I wish they had an emergency phone and AED at the bathroom for each loop because if you're not in the front loop and need it you'll have a long way to go in an emergency.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
