Staff were pleasant and very helpful; assisted me in signing up for the Federal park pass.Stayed in the non-RV section this time. Quiet; just birds singing and the sound of the water in a nearby stream. Bathrooms were clean as well as fire ring area. Other campers were friendly yet respectful; no excessive lights and noise after 10pm.

The staff was very courteous and helpful, however the restrooms need more attention, I know money Drives these things but lighting and ventilation improvements would help.

We had reservations for 2 nights and found the park closed for both nights. Drove around the park from the South side to the North and found it was still closed. The process for requesting refund was difficult to navigate.

My only reason for only giving SmokeMont 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that there are no shower facilities at the campground. The sites were clean and easily accessed. The lady that checked me in was so very pleasant and helpful. Awesome! I checked in on 9/12. Overall a very nice experience. Yes I would do it again.

On arrival around 6 PM, no management was present or posting of info on my reservation for site with 110v foe medical equipment. On finding my reserved site, the 110v outlet was locked with a key padlock, thus, not accessible for use during stay.

Camp ground and facilities are very clean. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed doing some day hikes. Camp sites are a bit close together for me but that is just a personal preference. I would definitely camp there again.

After we had our tents set up for 24 + hours, the ranger came by and asked us to move our kids tent. Not a big deal but it was raining and we were only going to be at the site one more night. Also, the camp next to ours had 8 or more guests that liked to watch our every move.

Had a great time. Camp ground is clean and quiet. Just remember that there are no showers and multiple people share the restrooms. They are not always thinking of others... The wood that you have to purchase from the park needs a lot (and I mean a lot) of help getting lit. We used fire starter blocks and had to keep using until the fire started and got going. Just plan for that if you are having a fire at night. Otherwise, great place to camp. Close to everything that we wanted to do (Cherokee, hiking, Clingmans Dome, etc).

I stayed in B28 and was tent camping. It was a great site. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The campground and buildings were clean. At exactly 10 o’clock the entire campsite was quiet. I would definitely stay here again! I purposely chose a smaller campsite further away from the busy north end of the park. I enjoyed the drive through the Smokies to get over to Cades Cove.

Awesome! There are no showers but there is a beautiful mountain stream you can rinse off in after hiking one of the many trails available right at camp. They are as short at 3.4 miles or as long as 6 miles! We will definitely be back! S'mores and fireflies in mid July with cool mornings and warm afternoons. Nothing better :)

National Park Campgrounds are cramped and crowded, Luckily being the off season it was half empty. But people were running generators and seems everyone has a dog these days. And the facilities are very sparse. I camp at National Forests a lot and they have electric sites and Nice Hot Shower Bathroom suites. Not sure why the National Parks are so lacking in good accommodations. But we enjoyed the park and the weather was good. Too bad the best campsites (The RV sites) were closed for the season. The RV sites are still just primitive sites, but slightly larger and wider spaced. Its hard to understand why when there is no facilities other than a parking spot for your tent or camper, you need to close off the best camping areas. Why not leave the roads open and just close off every 2 out of 3 campsites.

I was skeptical about boon-docking but, this is one awsome place. Its very quiet and peaceful. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and although we didn't do much in the park. it was located close Cherokee for fishing. I already have my calendar marked to make several reservations for next year. If you use a cell phone booster, you can get wi-fi and good signal.

Have been staying at Smokemont for over 20 years. Clean, quiet and sites not overly cramped together.

This is a beautiful campground with spacious sites and many great RV pull through drives. We enjoyed our stay and found the staff to be helpful too.

Always fun. Although full campground, still easy to social distance from others. I go several times a year and my drive is 10+ hours each way. Worth the drive.

Great place, spacious, quiet, friendly. Everything one would want in primitive camping but with clean rest rooms.
