Beautiful campground with a small river running through it. Hiking trails in many areas in and around the campground. Peaceful, clean, nice facilities, great staff! Go there often even though we only live 15 miles away. Last visit about 40 elk cows and calfs wandered by 15 feet from our site. Talk about up close and personal with the locals. One of our favorite places.

The hand dryer never worked the whole time I was there and there was no soap in the soap dispenser until a few days later the dispenser was completely removed and never reappeared

I love staying at Smokemont Campground! Its easy to get to from the Cherokee side of the smokies and has some fantastic hikes close by.

If you totally want to disconnect from your phone, the internet, and overcrowded environments, this is such a wonderful place. I love the space between the campsites, but I also love the spirit of this campground. I first became a camper at this campground in the late 1960's. Camped there until 1981 and we just stopped camping because our son was very involved in kid sports. My husband recently retired. We bought a new Coachman Clipper Pop-Up and Smokemont was our first return camping trip. It was all I remembered it to be and we will be going back in just a few weeks. Great for building family togetherness! Taking our 9 year old triplet granddaughters when we go back!

Quiet Campground with enough parking space for our 25 ft motor home and SUV, a tent pad and campfire/grill. Two dumpsters with 2 hoses for cleaning and potable waters each. Clean restrooms too.

The campsite was amazing. My son and I had the time of our lives out there. Cherokee was close by for any of our needs and Gatlinburg was close enough to visit. Our campsite was next to the river/creek. We will be back soon

We had a wonderful time at Smokemont. Our campsite was plenty big for our van, two tents and a pavilion. It was also right across from the river which was lovely.

Lack of undergrowth and worn look of campground make me feel like staying inside the RV instead of being outside. Close proximity of sites leaves no privacy. Proximity to hiking and other outdoor experiences was primary attraction.

Spacious sites right next to the river and plenty of hiking trails nearby. Take in a sunset with your chairs next to the river! Visiting in the winter off season with only a handful of other occupied sites added to the enjoyment, so a more packed summer season may diminish one's enjoyment.

Spent the week in a tent in November. It was cold at night (low 30s) and into 50s during the day. LOVED IT !!!Stayed in B34 this time and its a great site. Near the river (sound puts me to sleep at night) and not far from bathroom. My favorite campground in the park.
