We just stopped in for one night, but I could have stayed at Smokemont all week. Very peaceful campground, plenty of flush toilets, and fun trails to explore. Camping next to the river was the highlight of the trip. Listening to the flow of water all night was just pure bliss.

Sites are too close together.

We loved our site. Close to the stream and right next to the log walking bridge. Loved hearing the sound of the stream especially at night. Staff was friendly. Riding stables on the same road. Really enjoyed our 1 hour guided horse ride.

Difficult to find a solar-friendly site here, but the campground and facilities were well kept. No cellular service, but a short drive into Cherokee will get you at least 3 bars of 5G (AT&T).

Beautiful setting. We'll maintained sites and bathrooms. The stables (less than a mile away) had a steady supply of firewood and ice at more than reasonable prices. Will definitely be back!

This is the 2nd time I stayed in this campground. In general, it is pretty good, but I wish to see some improvement in future. 5G or LTE is needed. Need shower rooms. Some sites are not leveled.

Very nice campground, enjoyed the several hiking trails starting in the campground. Restroom were very clean, sites were nice and level. Sites were spacious enough for your own privacy, considering this is a campground. We prefer to boondock , however there is not much opportunity for boondocking on BLM land in this area.

Excellent campground with easy access to trails. Warm bathroom that was very clean. Easy access also to the town of Cherokee for supplies or a hot meal.

I absolutely loved this campground. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I didn’t use the public facilities Out site was across a small road from the river, which was an extra treat! I will definitely return

My only regret is we didn't stay longer! Beautiful spot next to the stream, quiet, with mostly tent campers in the non-generator site. One of the best parks we've ever stayed.

Campground is well kept, facilities are generally clean. Running water is a plus. The setting is gorgeous with the Bradley Fork providing soothing background and a nice place to cool down in hot weather. The Smokemont loop trail is a great challenge and the Chasteen cascades are very beautiful and worth the hike.

Rough! Generators tan all day and night. Granted it was a cold weekend. People up partying and being load wayyyy past 10 pm. Car is next site ran engine and lights all night. Would not return.

The spot we chose was perfect, right next to the river and by a loop path through the trees. The bathrooms were close by too! The only thing is that after hours, it is hard to get wood or other supplies as nobody is there to watch the area. Otherwise, BEAUTIFUL campsite and park!

Camp ground was great and mostly ours... There were never any staff to ever check in so that left us with some confusion before just deciding to set up camp. No cell service is an obvious one... And Lord forbid you want to go anywhere other than to Cherokee which doesn't have much to offer other than I mean every word when I say God awful food service and sanitation at Paul's... The campground was clean and bathrooms were clean as well. Fyi the wood u find around camp is all but impossible to burn w/o buying a few bundles and getting a large fire going and there is a ton of water vapor in the air that will dampen anything cotton... That's no biggie... After our first night we made adjustments to tent and caught and stayed comfortable the 1st week of January... Lastly there are bridges that show on Google and according to baitstore in Cherokee that we were allowed to permit fish with state licenses... Right along the road out of camp. One day we were fishing about 100 yrs north of the blue Ridge Pkwy about 300 yrs north of the posted Cherokee waters sign along the trail. Just my girlfriend who has never fished before and myself who gets to fish once a year practically. It was what we had planned to do with our trip and we did fish a day in Cherokee with a "tribal permit" following all the rules we could. one day north of the bridge two cherokee nre officers approach us and ask how were doing I hand them license as does girlfriend they say this is tribal waters... I said there was a sign 300 yrs down there stating Cherokee waters started there they said nope and wrote us both a hundred dollar citation were timed at 830am while we didn't even start til noon and they wrote her location as blue Ridge Pkwy and mine at Cherokee highschool... I'm not bothered by the technicalities of the location and time but less the integrity of the officers that pull up on tourist with out of state tags and ticketed us. It's cheaper to just pay then to return to fight it. Extortion
