Nice except I was too close to the bathroom and you had to go outside the park for a shower. The fishing was not impressive and you should have more places where you can observe the fireflies during their synchronocity.

Not crowded in December.

Pros:
- Hiking right from campground for all levels of experience
- Very close to visitors center & city of Cherokee
- Folks who stay here were pleasant
- Clean facilities

Cons:
- They closed bathrooms with ZERO notice to patrons. Not cool. Had to walk .40 of a mile to the next closest.

Nice campground tucked away in the Great Smokey Mountain Nat’l Park. Next time we’ll do F loop, much better for RVs

Lovely setting. Recommend for those who enjoy a more primitive experience without strapping on a backpack.

Smokemont is a great launchpad for many beautiful hikes along cascading mountain creeks, and is a good basecamp for exploring both the southern side of the park, with quick access to Newfound Gap and the AT. Sites have little to no privacy, but there's plenty of shade, and lots of park to explore. Most sites are flat or nearly flat, so pitching a tent or leveling a small campervan or RV is easy.

We enjoyed our stay. We have 21ft and it was a little difficult To get into our spot because of the large rocks. Also maybe have a section for people Who need to run a generator. It was a little disheartening to breath gas fumes and listen to a very loud generator while trying to enjoy our campfire. ??
