We camped for two nights and campground was wonderful. Sites was clean when we arrived. No showers but bathrooms were clean, well lit and maintained. Lots of trees that provide good shade and even blocker some rain when it rained a little first night we were there. Creek runs next to the campground and you can hear it at night which I personally find soothing. We stayed here for a day hike to Mt LeConte. Alum Cave trailhead is only 30 minutes drive so we were able to get up early to arrive in time to find parking. Enjoyed our time there and will definitely go back.

Lovely campground, lovely staff. We were hoping to win in the synchronous firefly lottery, but we did not. We decided to go camping anyway. To our pleasure, we witnessed the synchronous fireflies in the woods around the Smokemont campground, what a neat experience! Bathrooms were functional and reasonably clean. The campground was full, so there were A LOT of people, so not really the place to get away from crowds, but everyone seemed to exercise good camp etiquette. We fished and played in the river, as well as hiked, went to the visitor center, saw the sites, went up to Kuwohi, and spent a day in Cherokee. We saw elk in camp and in the area, wild turkeys, and even a bear off the side of the road. It was a wonderful experience.

Clean bathrooms and campsite.Beautiful setting although the campsites are open and close together.Keep in mind that there is no privacy here.Great location for the trails in the southern section of park. Some trails lead off from the campground which is convenient.

Great campgrounds. Very clean and well maintained. The bathroom was also in great shape. My only complaint is that the sites are pretty close together, so there is a lack of privacy; you can hear everyone's conversations and occasionally someone will pass through your campsite trying to get to the bathrooms. Everyone I met was friendly and courteous so it was not a huge issue. Next time I come back to the Smokies, I'll likely look to stay here again.

Late February / early March there are very few campers there and it is very peaceful and quiet.

We went in early March and we didn't stay for the 5 days we booked. The second night it poured and our tents were flooded. There was no guard none of the days and no signal in the whole area.

The site is very clean and camping spots are nicely spaced. The restrooms were also very clean. I went in the fall and there was a space heater in the restroom, which was very nice. The nearby creek was a soothing white noise type.

I camped (tent) at Smokemont 3 times in the past 2 months. Once it was in the F loop where no tents are allowed. I was surprised to see the tents that the RVers would use. Maybe that rule is not enforced ? Huge screen rooms. And yet we are not allowed to use a small tent ! Doesn't make sense to me. The other times it was in either the A or B loop. Very nice. Good clean restrooms. Nice sites and access to many trails from the campgrounds.

We really enjoyed Smokemont. Easy to walk over to the river to splash around. Some water spigots weren't working for a few days, and there wasn't as much privacy as we expected, but bathrooms were very clean and the location is quite convenient to reach the Clingmans area of the park.
