Hard to figure out if the campground was accesible with closed area in the Smoky mountains, but really nice campsites between the trees and lots of people making fires at their sites.

Easily accessible campground with wooded sites, many of them pull-through. Appreciated easy access to washrooms and dumpsters. It was a quiet and peaceful stay.

Very well-maintained campground. Definitely go down the road to the horse stables and check it out.

Great experience, perfect weather, friendly professional staff. B006 was clean and level. Good picnic table, lantern hook, and fire ring with cooking grate that I successfully used to prepare delicious pork chops! Keep up the good work!

Love this CG, especially section F, which was closed until May 15th...must have been due to lack of manpower, since the campground was full each night of my stay!

Lots of areas to walk dogs, and some good hiking trails start right from the CG!

We camped for 3 nights with our 3 young children. We saw elk every time we drive in/out of the campground, even in the river right by the campground. It was amazing! Loved being close to Cherokee to learn about the culture of the people native to this land. We hiked at Deep Creek, which was great for kids, and we stopped and had a picnic between waterfalls. We hiked a few miles from the campground looking for a waterfall, but never found it -- the kids were grumpy about that. We also drove to Clingman's Dome and hiked to the lookout tower, which was a little more steep/long than we had planned on (after a long day of other hikes), but it was beautiful (also crowded, but didn't bother us). Next time we'll bring bikes for the kids to ride around the campground. Wish there were showers -- 3 days of hiking with no showers was less than ideal. We had a lovely experience and highly recommend it to others wishing to explore this incredible area!

Great and simple campground. Bathrooms that were close to my campsite were shut off but the ones near the front are still open. Very clean and well maintained. The highway was closed the day I arrived due to winds/ice, but luckily it was open the next day. Most of the popular hikes are on the other side of the Smokys. The visitor center employees were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. I would camp here again.
