Beautiful place, friendly and helpful staff, great hiking and fishing from the campground and close to town if you forget anything.

All around good experience - friendly camp host (Tom), clean bathrooms, flat tenting sites, great location near a stream, picnic table and fire ring at site, quiet hours (10 pm to 6 am), firewood ($8), and easy access to Benton MacKaye and other hiking trails.

Stayed in #4 in A loop, right across from the creek. Nice to fall asleep to but you have to almost yell at people with you, lol. Sites are very close together, I expect the busy season to be very loud. Clean sites and bathrooms. Beautiful location. No cell service. If you need it, go back to the welcome center.Would stay again but only in the off season.

Smokemont is a beautiful campground with tall trees and a gorgeous stream running along the entire campground. You could stay at Smokemont and keep yourself busy for many days without any travel. We will likely be back

Such a beautiful place. Our family has been camping here for years. Love the quiet time after ten pm when we sit by the campfire and reflect on the past year. The elk are such an awesome sight. We were camping years ago when the ranger came through and invited us to a presentation that night about restoring the elk to the park; now they are a big attraction. At night we ride out on the highway, pick a clear spot and watch the stars. Unbelievable. Rangers are friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience. We will be bac k next October.

Everything went very smooth and a beautiful, clean campground. I was surprised there was not a lot of potable water spickets. Otherwise we had a great time! Beautiful spot!

Excellent campground, beautiful trout streams and hiking trails nearby. The bathrooms were clean and orderly. If there wasn’t any generator noise from the large RV 2 campsites from ours I would give 4 stars. The park rangers and campground personnel are very friendly and accommodating.
