Beautiful campground, super convenient to downtown Cherokee, and polite and helpful rangers! I arrived in the middle of the night- was able to easily enter and find my spot to camp.

Sites are close together, well maintained however not only are there no showers there's not even soap dispensers in the bathrooms.

Very quiet campground. Although full the noise was minimal and drowned out by the sound of the nearby creek. Not much privacy and many sites are very close to each other. Bathrooms were clean with flush toilets and sinks, but surprisingly no soap or hand sanitizer.

Excellent campground. Our favorite in the smokies. Guards were the friendliest and most helpful. Close to anything we needed. Sites, towns, etc. bathrooms were kept nice, clean, and convenient.

I arrived late Sunday afternoon as a walk in tent camper and got one of the last sites available.
This worked out great and I stayed a second night.
It's a nice campground and the facilities are good And clean.
The sites are pretty close but it was only a crash pad for me so not an issue, my neighbors were friendly!

The campground doesn't fully open until May 15th. This is when the RV sites are open. In the meantime you are allowed to use the RV/Tent site. We went to three campgrounds in the national park and this was the only one where they were a bit short. We have a 26ft motorhome and we backed up until the rear wheels touched the curb. There was about 3-4 feet in front to the street. If you have a travel trailer and truck this will be tight. Great location and well kept campground we enjoyed our stay.

Smokemont is absolutely beautiful. We did Christmas and stayed in A4 for a week. Tight squeeze for our 27' travel trailer. In fact, most of the A and B sites are small for trailers. Choose carefully. There are only a limited number of sites open in the winter. C, D and F sites are better for larger rigs. But the scenery, hiking, and the beauty that surrounds you is simply breath taking. We will definitely go back someday soon.
