Tubing in the creek is fun. Nice campground but no showers

Deep Creek Campground was not crowded this early in the Spring season. Easy access to several trails and waterfalls. The spring wildflowers were fantastic and there were lots of butterflies, especially Pipevine Swallowtails. The Deep Creek Trail was super nice.

I stayed at the Deep Creek Campground for 3 nights in early April, a few days after the campground opened for the 2024 season. Only about 10% of the campsites were occupied. The facilities were in great shape. I day hiked the Deep Creek Trail up to back country campsite 60 and the next day I hiked the Indian Creek Trail up to back country campsite 46, as well as the Deeplow Gap Trail to campsite 51. I visited the old cemeteries and the waterfalls. These trails are mainly along old wagon roads. I recommend these trails as they gradually ascend and are not crowded once you get past Indian Creek Falls.

First time camping in the park and this spot was awesome! We were able to avoid the crowds, even though we were there for the peak of fall color. The waterfall loop trailhead is close by and was a beautiful hike. Also worth noting, the bathrooms were immaculate. Cleanest I've come across by far with running water, soap, and mirror. Only complaint was some loud campers who did not observe quiet hours, but otherwise, a pretty amazing experience!

Another great SMNP campground. The Deep Creek CG is well situated for tubing in the streams that pass through the CG. Be prepared for frequent rainfall in this part of North Carolina. Bryson City is near Deep Creek CG and is worth a walking visit. The easiest place to park a RV in Bryson City is likely Main Street near the flyfishing museum. The steam train excursions out of Bryson City is a worthwhile diversion. RV owners who buy a train ticket are allowed to park in the railroad parking lot.

No Deep Creek complaints. Staff onsite were friendly, bath rooms were spotless and firewood was stacked at several camps. Close day hikes were easy and the creek/river was crystal clear. Overall - great experience.Complaint for the .gov crew - reservation system and policy, you need more First Come Sites. When you're traveling all day and getting tired or just feel the need to stay an extra day, it would be nice to be able to without travelling 10 miles for cell service after you arrive. If you don't have internet you are hosed.

Campground and amenities as described. Enjoyed the Deep Creek trail hike although could have been better marked.

We had a good level site with nice big trees for a hammock. There is a well maintained clean building with flush toilets and sinks with running water. We found wonderful hiking trails and beautiful waterfalls.
