Excellent campground! The sites were well kept and generally had plenty of privacy and space between neighbors. The bathroom were extremely clean, and its only a 3 minute drive to the dunes parking lot. Well be staying again very soon

Loved camping here! Very clean bathrooms and easy access to the dunes. The sites fill up fast, so be sure to book well in advance.

This is my favorite camping spot in Colorado! So unique and so beautiful! So fun to hike up the sand dunes, and it is a great challenge!

The camp ground is in the park and has trails to the dunes. The view is great, you can see mountains and dunes. It has flush toilets and water but no hook ups.

Great campground but we were surprised that almost all services were under construction.

This is a beautiful and well maintained campground. The water and dump station were an added bonus. The view of the dunes was spectacular! I’d definitely stay there again.

Very enjoyable stay at Pinon Campground! To experience the full wonder of the dunes, I suggest hiking out as far as you can go in 1.5 to 2.0 hours. The perspective is so different once you are up on the dunes.
Start as early as possible and take plenty of water.

The campground is nice, but noisy (barking dogs and screaming children) and in most of the sites you are very close to your neighbors. If you are used to dispersed camping, this may be bothersome to you.

The staff/rangers in the park are wonderful- very courteous and helpful.

We tried the Medano Pass primitive road. Went about 6 miles in a V-8 Ford Explorer. It is a thrill- but be prepared for one of the most difficult roads I have been on in Colorado. We stopped half way up, not so much that I didn't think the Explorer could make it, but more because I was worried about causing damage to my vehicle. If you have a small jeep or similar vehicle to use, you shouldn't have any problem.

Very pleasant campground with access to trails. Trails on the mountain side are lovely, with some shade/vegetation, incline and great views. Going to the dunes access at picnic area was definitely the place to enter.

Our grandsons were on their first overnight camp trip. Medano Creek was perfect! We brought home more memories than we could have hoped. Was not too crowded (Sunday night/Monday night stay) and the camp hosts were very helpful.

Very fun family camping destination! Campground is a short walk to the dunes. Lots of traffic to get in on Saturday afternoon. No soap in the bathroom, so bring your own.
