Been coming here 20 years. Although more crowded than ever, its still an amazing place to come.

Loved the campground. Great views and some shade. Bath house could use a bit more light (loop 2 upper side).

Superb site location. We had a great view overlooking the Dunes & mountains. Best bathrooms! They were super clean & smelled nice. Kudos to the gentleman tending to the grounds & bathrooms he was very friendly & helpful w/ my questions. Couldnt find anywhere to buy firewood, the camp hosts were not available & the camp store was not open. No big deal though because we didnt need a fire. But would recommend trying to buy some in town before you drive in if you need it. Stayed in mid May & bugs were not a problem. Medano creek was flowing pretty good & had a great time!

Such a nice campground. Running water in bathrooms is not always a given at a camp so I appreciate when its there. Everything was clean too. The campsite was beautiful, quiet and peaceful.

The location and the views are superb! It was very nice having flush toilets as well as a utility sink for dishes. Loved having the trails right from the campground. The sites felt a little small and close together but it wasn't an issue for a small group.

Specter views, spacious campsite, and amenities in good shape made for a great camping experience. The only thing I wish for is a tent camping area that is separated from the RV sites so I dont have to listen to the $@&%$ generators.

Great car camping site. Running water in the bathrooms, dish washing station and it was quiet the night we stayed. It is an easy walk over to the dunes right from camp.

Excellent spring and fall camping. I add a warning to dog owners to check the heat of the sand before hiking with their dog. I didn't realize just how hot the sand was until I went barefoot myself. In 70-degree air temperatures, it was too hot to walk on the dry sands barefoot. My dog suffered while hiking for too long before I realized that the sand and the trails were too hot for him. He loved the shallow waters from the spring run-off but it was a long haul in too hot conditions to get back to camp. I also encourage people to do a better job cleaning up their dog poop, especially around the campgrounds.

We were in Loop B. This is a great campground. The sites are nicely spaced, surrounded by trees and nature, and each site was well-maintained. The bathrooms were clean, and easy to get to. We were lucky enough to have a fantastic view of the dunes and mountains. All the sites were full, but it didn't feel too crowded, which was nice. We saw quite a few deer and lots of different birds near our site, and a few chipmunk friends (of course). At night, we were able to hear a pack of coyotes yipping and calling to each other. The visitor's center wasn't open (understandably--thanks, 2020), but I've been there before, and it's nice. The rangers did a fantastic job of being present and the staff took excellent care of the park, even despite funding cuts and the challenges of the pandemic. Thanks for a great trip! The Great Sand Dunes are incredible, and always a pleasure to visit, and we will definitely be back again.

We tent camped here 7-15-2020. Beautiful views, elk sightings in the morning. The restrooms are clean & there even a dish washing station outside the restrooms. This is on our list to come back to next year.
