The campground was very nice. My camp site was clean and was the perfect size and layout for my single tent. The restroom facilities were very clean. I really appreciated that the facilities include an outdoor "kitchen" sink and easy access to potable water. I would stay here again. Of course the scenery and location were wonderful!

There is a nice view of the sand dunes from the campground. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and warm, despite the low temperatures outside. Nice visitor center. Great picnic areas.

Very clean bathroom! The park attendant was super kind and helpful. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Plenty of space for 8 of us on one site. We had a blast!

Fantastic location with views of the dunes and mountains. It is across from the camp hosts and the bathrooms. Steep hill behind the tent area, a walking trail nearby but hikers didn't walk through our spot, neighbors are spread out very nicely. Bathrooms were under construction when we were there so we had porta potties & no utility sink to wash dishes. We were told this is the best spot in the park but we seen a couple we definitely want to test out on our next trip. It's a well maintained park. The day use picnic area is one of best ones I've seen in a national park. It was beautiful. The only thing that would make this a 5 star park is showers.

Lovely, quiet campground with the spectacular dunes always in view. So happy to be allowed to bring our dog!

Always lovely here especially in the Spring and Fall. We started our camping season in April at Pinon Flats and ended it here in October. Experienced the normal, cold nights, warm days, sunshine, snow, and even snow during sunshine all on the same day. We camp in a tent and really enjoy the coyotes singing and the owls hooting during the night. So lovely that this is one of only five (I think) national parks that allow dogs on the trails, on the sand, and in the dunes. I encourage people with dogs to follow the leash rules and pick up after their pets so this doesn't change. Unfortunately, I picked up lots of evidence to the contrary.

Even though the campgrounds were full all the sites are spread apart were you did not feel crowded. Plenty of privacy. Nice trails to the dunes or up in the mountains. I loved it, beautiful place!
Fellow campers were respectful of social distancing. Rangers were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean! Camp was quiet at night. It’s windy in spring.
