All the rangers were so friendly and helpful. I loved the Visitors Center and the gift shop.I wish the GSD park offered cabins for those of us who are done with tent camping. Thanks,Mike Bono

Stayed in loop 2, which did not have views but had plenty of trees and shade. The sites were separated by a reasonable amount of forest growth, which allowed for some privacy. We had plenty of level space in the tent pad for two small tents. This park is far from any services and supplies, so come prepared (eg, firewood). There was a small store with signage that indicated it would be open during the day, but was never open the two days we were there. We did not bring firewood and wished we had. The restrooms were clean and modern, compared to other NP campgrounds we have stayed in. The campground was full both nights, and in general people were respectful and quiet. The dunes were a blast to visit.

It was a nice campground and had everything we needed. Would be good to have potable water signs to show where safe drinking water is. Mosquitos were terrible but thats nothing they can control.

Great location close to the sand dunes. Our site had bathrooms and running water nearby. The area had a lot of campers, but everyone was pretty respectful of each other's space and turned in relatively early.

Stayed at site 55. Nice tree coverage, close to the bathrooms with out being too close. No one behind the site. It was suuuuuper windy while there, and the trees provide amazing wind blocking capabilities. Tent hardly moved, despite it sounding like a hurricane. Amazing site.

This specific spot was fantastic. Losts of shade in summer. Enough bushes for a tiny bit of privacy. Perfectly clean flush toilets. Far away from others... Was just great.

It snowed while I was there. The facilities were clean for a campground, they plowed the roads and the park was beautiful. Can't wait to try again in the summer.

First National Park and experience and probably one of my most favorite camping experiences of all. Its hard for me to get time to camp anywhere but at a Texas State Park. I usually do primitive camping at those parks but the campsite at GSDNP was a great change of pace after ethe drive. I had a Backcountry permit one night but my cocampers werent feeling up to it. The dunes can take alot out of you. Mosquitoes were worse than I was expecting so bring bug spray and sunscreen and chapstick. The Rangers were all very nice and communicative. All the campsites seemed pretty balanced I didn't see one that I would have hated to camp at. They looked to all have a little shade at some part of the day.

I didn’t get to experience this camp ground due to it being 14 degrees and me being on a motorcycle. Yet NPS and Recs.gov refused to offer a refund, even though I attempted to cancel and request a refund 8 days prior to my arrival!
