This was a lovely campsite with easy access to the dunes as well as being nearby the visitors center and some mountain. My first night, I settled in after going for a short walk and watching the sun set behind the dunes. I also woke up early to summit the dunes the next morning and viewed the sunrise from on top of the first dune ridge before returning to camp for breakfast. I will definitely stay at this sites again in the future to do some more exploring around the national park.

Sand Dunes are always magical, but this time of year the stream is the best with the water flowing, warm days, and cool nights. This was a great corner spot at Pinon Flats, and was remarkably clean and tidy. We liked that it was close enough to the bathrooms without being right next to it. We came in with extra trash bags to do our part and help out, but they weren't needed. Spaces are close, so you can see and hear other groups, but everyone was respectful and kind. Going to make this a yearly tradition!

I was in site 42 with a 27 MH and it easily could have fit a 32. Very nice double wide site, but does slope back, so leveling can be harder. The four stars is because the store has a Pepsi machine with very bright lights that harm the dark sky viewing.

In our loop about one third of the sites had one day reservations but were left empty. We are seeing this problem grow and this year was the worst. I know you and the parks don’t care because you both get your money but as someone who now struggles to find sites it is becoming so discouraging that we are considering selling our travel trailer.

Where we had to set up the tent was gravel so that wasn't great. Then we got eaten alive by mosquitoes; 30 bites on a single leg.

Wonderful campsite! Beautiful views, well kept grounds and facilities.

Just watch out for the cactus with pets and small kids in the surrounding brush.
