Such an awesome place to camp! Beautiful views of the Sand Dunes, spotless bathrooms, and even a dishwashing station! We had a fantastic time.

This was a great campsite but we couldnt leave five starts because the site was so insanely unlevel that even with three sets of leveling blocks we couldnt get our short camper anywhere close to level- it was 8 off from front to back. Plus the camp store wasnt open during the posted hours, not a problem for us but could be a big deal if someone is counting on that for supplies and it is a bummer not to be able to purchase firewood. The park itself was phenomenal and greatly surpassed expectations.

You have everything here to enjoy a stay for a night or a week! The campground is right in front of the dunes. You can walk from you RVs to the dunes or enjoy the forest. The spaces are all equipped, you have a dump and a water station. I would come back with no hesitations!

While it is an incredible view of the Sand Dunes, the mosquitoes made us stay inside our campervan the whole night, they were truly unbearable!

Sand Dunes is my wife's favorite National Park. Must be popular with lots of other people, because camp spots are reserved well in advance. Unfortunately the last several times we were lucky enough to make a reservation, when we arrived we found many camp sites empty. It was obvious that these empty spots could have been filled, but never were. Too bad that some kind of policy was not set in place where camp sites left vacant past 6p.m. would be filled on a first come first serve basis.

Excellent location. Bring a good camera. "Sand boarding" is an option. (No shower facilities; pay attention to road closures in the area, to save traveling time)

We camped in site #39 and had fantastic views of the sand dunes. The campsites are small but adequate. Drove to the Dunes parking area & had fun walking on the dunes & watching others slide. Good Ranger led talks.

The Sand Dunes were great! The water was great! Our campsite was not. We were in site 39, which is sloped from east to west. So sloped, in fact, that I raised the west side of our camper 4 inches and we were still slanted by 3 inches. Due to no tree cover it is also an extremely windy site.

The park is beautiful and the camping sites are adequate, but the water spigots were not threaded to allow us to use our hose to fill the water tank for our RV. When we went to the visitor center for help in locating a threaded spigot, the staff there said that they have never been approached with this question. Hard to believe that we are the only ones who ever looked for a spigot that would accomodate a hose.

Great campground. Flush toilets. Great rangers. Some campsites have great view of dunes

Incredibly clean bathrooms (with sinks and flush toilets), easy access to the dunes, and there was a campground store that sold ice cream, firewood, and other snacks! Site sizes varied greatly and we were lucky to have a larger site with unobstructed views of the dunes.

Great little campground, with plots laid out nicely and reservations clearly marked for each site. No showers but toilets and a dishwashing tap. No eateries nearby, just a little shop so bring whatever you want to eat with you. Walks as well as the sand dunes nearby
