We really likes our camp site, an the campground. It is clean, it was quiet and family friendly. We were not prepared for the heavy wind that's coming up at night. We hat very heavy wind both nights an ot ripped off our tent. Out nights were very uncomfortable. That nothing the NPS is responsible for.

This is a great campground with large sites and easy walking distance to the dunes. Also short drive to parking area by the stream across the dunes that has showers to rinse off.

This is a very well-kept campground with clean bathrooms, ample trash and all amenities needed. The view from our campsite was fantastic.

A large, but well run campground. There are wide variety of tent sites... some smaller, some larger, some with more privacy than others. You pick out your site from those available once you check in at the main camp store. Showers were clean and hot, but are by the main camp store at the campground entrance (a short hike from the tent sites). We were there on a Friday night at peak season and there weren't any lines for the restrooms or showers.

The campground is an excellent location to explore the Sand Dunes Park. We were in spot 38 and the spot had a perfect view of the dunes. It was easy to access everything in the park from this locations.

This is a great place to stay to see the sand dunes and do some hiking. The sites are small....for real. There are no hookups and cell coverage is poor for AT&T. We arrived with a full fresh water tank and were glad we did. The dump is on the way in or out (there's only one road) and is easy to use. We didn't find any recycle cans despite seeing signs advising they were available.

Lovely campground - clean and we'll maintained. The dishwashing sink is very helpful for those of us who tent camp. Wish more campgrounds had them. Appreciated the little campground store.

Great campground even without amenities. Bathrooms were always spotless and garbage always kept up on. Terry the camp host was absolutely the best. Amazing scenery and a very nice visitor center. Do wish there was more shade.

First time visit to the park and my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the camping and hiking. Appreciative of flush toilets and sinks, only wish there was hot water available for washing dishes vs. having to heat our own. Something of which to be aware but not a big deal.

Amazing views of the dunes. Clean bathrooms. We had about 4" of snow and the park staff quickly shoveled the walkways and restroom area.

Beautiful view. I loved the bear box provided. Restrooms were clean. Easy to reserve and just drive to the spot.

Wonderful campground with great views of the dunes. If you can find a open reservation I highly recommend it! If your a weekender get in early and do a hike because main gate traffic gets horrific on Saturday.

This is a rustic campground without electric hookups, but it does have central restrooms with flush toilets and a dump station. The campground loops only accommodates one-way traffic, so you can only enter and leave each loop in one direction. Some sites could be difficult to access with a travel trailer due to the way they are angled in relation to the loop road. We came in September to avoid the crush of crowds (and mosquitos) present in the Spring and early summer when the creeks are running. We carefully chose our site and had an amazing view of the dunes outside the window over our bed. At night, we lay back in our portable zero gravity recliners and considered the night sky. The Sand Dunes are noted as one of the best places in the US for stargazing, free of light pollution from cities. It did not disappoint. We've never observed the Milky Way in such detail. The air was nippy, but the sun was warm during the day, without making the dunes unbearably hot to traverse as can be the case in mid-summer. Even for this time of year, the campground was filled before evening. However, the water to the sinks (for washing dishes) outside the restrooms had been turned off for the season and the small camp store was closed. You get a different experience spending the night here than you do by staying outside the park and just day tripping in. Highly recommend it.

We loved the site but we were forced out our last day by the mosquitos. We started a hike but were attached by thousands of them so we packed up and left one day early.
