We were at site A025. We had a lovely view of the dunes, though our site was pretty exposed to the wind. We knew it had little shade and were prepared for that. On a calm day, this would be a beautiful site! We just happened to get punished by the wind the night we stayed there. Restrooms were clean and we appreciated the availability of fresh water.

Site 021, Loop 1 had great views of the dunes and the night sky.Site was mostly clean and bath rooms well maintained as well.

The mosquitos were ferocious at the beginning of July. The restrooms were delightfully clean and the water tasted good! Driving aluminum tent stakes in the gravel campsites is a challenge.

Camp ground is close to the dunes and very quiet all day long. Bathrooms are very clean.

The Dunes were amazing, but the campsite was not. The stairs leading down to the the campsite were downright dangerous. Loop 1 021. Wind was relentless as were the mosquito swarms. See the Dunes, but book a hotel in Alamosa.

As always, a gem of a campground and a fabulous experience. In between wind gusts and rain, we got out and hiked, played in the river, cooked meals, and met our neighbors. Sunsets were beautiful. Great pics of dunes still damp from the rain!

Stunning location to get away from it all. Dunes, Falls and hiking galore! Camp hosts and park rangers were friendly and informative.

It was very windy, but thats to be expected in April since its the windiest month at the Dunes!! The views from campsite 21 were INCREDIBLE! However, it has very little cover from the wind making it very difficult to tent camp or have a fire! Other than that the Dunes were a very cool experience and the campsite was gorgeous! Nicest/cleanest bathrooms Ive ever seen at a camp ground too!

Our campsite (#21 in Loop 1) had incredible views of the dune field and was away from other campsites for great privacy! Be sure to rent sand boards to sled or 'sandboard' down the dunes - it was easily the highlight of the trip!

Great campground with amazing views. The bathroom and dishwashing areas were well maintained. As forewarned, animal activity at night is frequent so just make sure you come prepared for that.

Beautiful campground! By far the closest campground to the Great Sand Dunes. Sinks with running water and toilets. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Located near the base of the dunes there was a hiking trail that lead down to the creek and sand dunes. The weather rapidly changed while visiting at the end of April from sun to brief periods of snow and hail. There were periods of wind gusts at the campsite. Bathrooms not far from site were clean, but bring your own soap. I would camp here again while visiting the Great Sand Dunes!

No showers, bathrooms fine. BYO soap. Our site (#21) had an awesome view of the mountains and sand dunes! Expect evening storms and plenty of sand in your gear! Morning is the best for the dunes - cooler and better chance of nice weather. Early enough and barefoot works best - but by noon (in late September, earlier in summer) the sand is too hot. Tent site was nice and level, very pleasant-feeling campground.

Great location, beautiful views. The sites do not have much shade so plan appropriate midday activities to get out of your site!

We had the best campsite and the BEST time. Our campsite faced the dunes and it couldn't have been any better than that. Bathrooms were so clean which was so nice after hiking in sand all day and it was so nice to have such a big bear locker to put all of our food in. Check-in was so easy. Everything about our trip was amazing.
