Fantastic! Decent shade and great facilities. Watch the size of the tent pad if youre tent camping :)

great experience, can't wait to return!! Made lifelong memories with my children and they are learning to appreciate the natural wonders of the world. Camp host went above & beyond to create a cherished experience.

The site was excellent, toilets and sinks were clean. The mosquitos were unbearable. We had spray, citronella, bug zappers but you could not sit outside.

Nice campground. Plenty of room between sites. Restrooms were clean.

This was a beautiful campground. The restrooms were very clean (and warm). No hot water. May want to check weather and winds prior to selecting camping site as can be very exposed from prevailing western winds. Hikes are manageable from the campsites and pets are allowed on the trails when leashed. We had a very nice 2 night stay. thank you. It is a beautiful park.

Many sites were very close together but, that's a minor inconvenience to get more folks into the Park. That said, its seemed quieter than others I've stayed at. Clean restrooms and ample water spigots and, most of all, the views...

Campground is beautiful & an excellent spot to stay close to the dunes. We had a 21’ travel trailer & it was definitely tight with that & the pickup in the same spot. I wouldn’t recommend anything bigger than that if staying at this campground. We loved having awesome views right from our campsite.

beautiful campground - most sites have great views of the sand dunes

Very convenient location to access the park and a beautiful campground. Bathrooms were mostly clean but no soap to wash hands. The hand-washing station outside was buzzing with bees. We expect older NPS campgrounds to be difficult to park our 30’ trailer in, but this one was especially difficult. The angle of our site (#12) was contradictory to the direction of the one-way loop so we had to go the wrong way and there were purposely placed large rocks and small shrubs that made it extremely tight. We had to park our tow vehicle so close to the camper that we could barely open the door. I would recommend that unless you’re confident in your skills and don’t mind a tree scratching your roof, don’t go any larger than 20-24’ for your camper here.

Stayed here for one night. All the views in the campground seem to be pretty amazing. Clean campsites with fire pits. Clean restrooms (no showers) and areas to wash dishes but bring your own hand soap and dish soap as these are not supplied. Nice camp store with any items you may have forgotten. The bear boxes came in handy for storing food and such. We did see quite a bit of wildlife in this area even with it being heavily trafficked by people. Even saw a mule deer in the morning before leaving. I would definitely recommend this park to anyone wanting to be close to the sand dunes and over all had a great experience.

People were loud until 1AM and the camp host didn't do anything to quiet them down.

I remember coming here before it was a National Park where you just drove up and grabbed a site. No more - quite busy these days. It is a nice, well maintained campground in an interesting place, but probably not worth more than two nights for most people. The spaces are fairly tight - we had a 16' trailer and I wouldn't bring anything much larger - and there is some vegetation and of course the Pinons to provide some shade and visual separation. No hookups but there is a convenient RV dump station and water refill near the visitor center. We did the standard two-some - a dune hike and then a drive up to Medano Pass on the 4x4 road. Driving through the sand was fun and the park also provides a tire inflator station so you can refill your tires if you drop pressure for the 4x4 road. There are many, many first-come-first-served backcountry tent campsites on the Medano road although they do not offer any particular scenery of note. They have bear boxes and picnic tables. There are other hikes nearby, both off of the Medano road and closer to the campground if you want to fill another day. There is a micro-grocery in the campground open 2-10, and I mean micro. We had a couple of bars of cell service on Verizon at the campground. A nice place.

Nice location next to sand dunes. Spots are set up backwards to be able to park a trailer. We had a 25' trailer and had to drive the one way opposite to get into correct position to park it. Saw others had to as well. Dissapointed the Dump station was shut down and we were counting on that as part of our camp fee.

Very clean campground. It was extremely windy and cold during our stay that limited fun on the dunes.
