The spot was clean and the trees were beautiful be sure to bring levelers. The views of the sand dunes and the mountains are spectacular. We went to the sand dunes visitors center and walked. Great hiking there. We did Zapata Falls in the area. Its a fantastic place to camp and theres so much to see in that area.

Very good spot with ample shade that helps cool off your tent in the afternoon, is close to the Dunes Trail that connects you to the Dunes from the campground, and is situated pretty evenly between two bathrooms. We noticed that spots 11 and 12 are great for groups traveling together. Only downside is that there was an increase in patrol presence, whether that be Rangers or Camp Hosts - we've stayed at this campground several times in the past and have not seen this, just felt odd, almost overbearing. The store clerk was amazing, driving around also but to make sure all guests had what they needed ahead of closing!

Small spots with one tent pad. But it was nice. Could see the Dunes and walk to them easily from camp.

Site and restrooms were clean. The sites are closer together than I like, but not terrible. I enjoyed Great Sand Dunes NP more than I thought I would. The dunes were taller than expected. The water was flowing and the ripples were fun to watch. The hike to nearby Zapata falls was worth the effort.

Very clean campground. Parking at some sites were tight, so most campers were smaller trailers or tent campers. Dunes were fun to hike, but the Mosca pass was really nice. A longer hike, but a nice trail. Be sure to bring water.

Always a great stay. The hiking trails area always great, especially a sunset hike overlooking the dunes. I also recommend the Zapata Falls hike just down the road.

We Loved this campground the first time we were here. Its close to the visitor center, bathrooms have running water and were clean, it also has a dump station and appropriate trash disposal area. The camp sites with the best view are those from 31-35 as they directly face the sand dunes. You can also hike to the dunes from these camp sites.

Very good visit. Campers with trailers should examine the campground maps very closely. Not all sites will accommodate trailers. Even with those that do some will require road blockage while hitching and unhitching.

We reserved campsite 11 on loop 1. It was listed with a tent pad size that was 12x12 but we found it to be slightly larger - which was great! The site was fairly small overall but had nice shade and the location next to the bathrooms and trail to the dunes was perfect and there was enough parking for two cars. We attended the Ranger's program at the amphitheater in the evening and everyone including my kids ages 5-13 enjoyed it. I wish the campground had showers since we came back from the dunes covered in sand but otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Campsite was in a great location. Very easy to walk to the dunes for a hike. It was also very clean and well kept. Bathrooms were clean as well. Only downside was that the only dumpsters were down by the amphitheater

Very nice campground. Bathrooms and facilities where very clean. However the mosquitoes are man eaters. I come from Florida and I've never seen mosquitoes the size of bats. Bring deet bombs and perhaps chain mail armor to repel the mosquitos. With that said, definitely wouldn't hesitate to go back. Just bring bug spray. It's a beautiful place.

We camped out during the mosquito epidemic. It was brutal! The campground itslef was good our time was just very bad.
