Jenny Lake campground is probably one of the most priceless jewels in the National Park System. Built in 1929 it hasn't been modernized much (the "privy" has flush toilets and hot and cold running water in the sinks, but that's about it - no showers and only 3 toilets on each side). That's really not hardly enough, but once you stay at Jenny you can feel the history and it lives in you. It is family camping at its' essence. There are supposedly plans in the works to make repairs to plumbing, add another "Privy" with showers, and to repave the one road in the campground this Fall. I have a wait and see attitude about those rumors. Their are two problems that have affected me adversely at Jenny, which I hope won't deter you from staying: One is that I am a handicapped veteran who was unfortunate enough to now have to stay close to a restroom, especially at night. Jenny has three handicapped sites directly across from the current restroom, but unfortunately for me, you don't have to be handicapped to reserve them. From what I have been able to see, the campers in those sites seldom are handicapped. Consequently, I have to take a bottle into my tent with me at night, but I don't mind that too much. The difficult part for me is having to drive around the one-way loop in my car many times a day to use the restroom when I need to go during the day. The other current problem, but perhaps it is only a pet peeve, is that I have always thought that camping was for the masses to have a way to enjoy the out of doors and, more specifically in this instance, the National Parks. Unfortunately, even though Jenny Lake Campground is described as a "tent-only" campground, the directors of the National Park System, who control the campgrounds, have decided that it is perfectly ok for campers with $100,000.00+ customized vans to "camp" in Jenny Lake Campground as well as those folks who have $2,000.00 - $5,000.00 tent mounted on top of their SUV's and 4-wheel drive trucks.

Love Jenny Lake campground. It is not so large scale as Colter Bay f.e. . Easy to start your hike around the lake here or take the boatride across the lake.,

No bad thoughts. Though I dish sink would be nice. Joe the camp ground guy was the best! Super helpful and friendly. Felt very welcomed. The campground was super chill. Each site was spaced out pretty good so I didn’t feel like I was on top of another person. Will definitely return and recommend.

Great staff! Great site and beautiful location. Rained for 4 days and nights and the tent site stayed dry! Enough trees to help you feel less close to other campers.
