The RV park has many great spots in the shady pines near the lake. We were there to enjoy the spectacular fall colors.

VERY strict abt dogs. Saw ppl with fires in RV park. Showers cost $5 at gift shop area. GORGEOUS views, close to everything, tons to do, many good campsites (level, not ON TOP of neighbor, properly working hookups) & MANY not good ones. Loud and touristy, but beautiful and convenient. Definitely coming back!

Very nice park and we came at the perfect time. We wish the restaurant and gift shop had been open the whole stay but really enjoyed the last of crowds in the park. My husband did fall in the electrical handhole outside the laundry/shower building next to the pole. The lid hanger is broken causing the lid to shift. I replaced the lid but noticed the next day it was off again so someone else may have fallen. I mentioned it to a park employee but I dont feel they took action.

Very nice and big campground. However, the price does not match with the facilities. Ezpecially when compared to other campgrounds. There are no shower available f.e.

Beautiful wooded campground next to Jackson Lake.

No one is enforcing campground rules. Random visitors who are not camping here driving up and using bathrooms at all hours.

It was really beautiful with lots of trees and clean bathrooms.

We love Colter Bay & GTNP. This was Our 4th stay here and will return again. Cant beat the setting, beautiful views & many things to see close by to the RV park itself. Quiet, with decent space between sites, most have tree buffers on at least one side. Could use a little updating, our sites water hookup was bent almost to ground level & the prior camper left part of their sewer hose connector inside the sewer hookup tube, which we had to remove prior to using it ourselves. A little frustrating & not what we wanted to mess with upon arrival but we managed. The campground is more rustic feeling as sites are dirt/sand (not paved at site) which can be messy during rainy times. Otherwise a nice place to stay. If staying late in the season (Sept/Oct) be aware that the store & visitor center closes at an earlier date than the campground, but the gas station remains open. Get your groceries & souvenirs early or youll be driving 45 minutes to Jackson for them! While at GTNP, definitely drive the full loop (inner & main park roads) to experience the whole park. So much can be seen from the main road, but back roads worth checking out are Moose-Wilson road; Gros Ventre; Pacific Creek; Pilgrim Creek for wildlife & scenic roads up Signal Mountain; by Jenny Lake; Rockefeller Dr to YNP, Mormon Row. Get out & hike a trail & enjoy the beauty around you of the Teton Range & surrounding areas (Jackson, Dubois, Hoback, Teton & Togwotee Pass, Moose, Jackson Lake, Jenny Lake, Taggart, Leigh & String Lakes/Trails). Drive into the surrounding National Forests for a completely unspoiled view of woods & water (note some roads are barely improved 2 tracks so take care with the vehicle youre driving, especially if its a rental car) Venture into Idaho for a different view of the Tetonsto see the western side of the mountains.

Excellent AT&T signal at site 460. Very clean restrooms. Pay showers at laundromat we did not use. Used outside shower tent with no issues. Laundromat had excellent wifi. Gas station price was less than Jackson Hole. Campground staff very friendly. Quiet campground. A few minutes walk and you are at Jackson Lake. Expensive but so is the entire area. Worth it for the location.

This park is showing its age, but it is still very convenient. Sites were gravel and many were not very level, but all were pull-through. We required leveling blocks. One huge plus of our site (460) was the length of the site - no issue with tow vehicle parking. But, to align with hook-ups, the trailer had to be towards the back of the site, which meant backing up a bit on a one-way street to get back into the site to park after site seeing. Not a big deal, but not the most convenient. Bathrooms didn't have showers, but they were available for $5 at the laundromat in Colter Bay Village. Thankful we were self-contained. Easy walk to the Village and Marina and several trailheads. Staff was very helpful and friendly. AT&T service was great here.

The park is phenomenal, Grand Tetons just has so much to offer: Hiking Trails; Water Activities; Wildlife Viewing; and of course, simply stunning views. For the most part we prefer to camp in less developed campgrounds, swapping the extra amenities of electricity, water and sewer for more space, privacy and quiet. Understand ahead of time that when you book here you are consciously deciding to forego the space, privacy and quiet for the modern amenities. But that is not the reason for the 3-star rating. The part of this campground I really struggle with, is the $60 / night electricity charge. Even if they are paying Lance Armstrong to generate the electricity by pedaling a generator 24-hours a day / 7-days a week, there is no conceivable way it would cost them anywhere near $60 a night for electricity. To put it in perspective, the $360 they charged me for 6-nights of electricity in the campground is roughly 2 times what it costs me for an entire month's worth of electricity while running the air conditioner to cool my 2,500 sq ft home during the intense heat of an Phoenix summer, Even more galling is that if you use the Senior Pass, the nightly electricity cost is greater than the price charged for the campsite itself. So just be aware someone is making a literal poop-ton of money off of this severely inflated 'nightly electricity fee' at Colter Bay RV park. Shame on you Grand Tetons Lodge Company. We were surprised that cell coverage was very good here in the Colter Bay area. We expected to be isolated from communications here, but ATT offered 174 Mbps down and 30.7 Mbps up while Verizon provided 83 Mbps down and 13 Mbps up.Special thanks to the National Park Service and Recreation.gov for making it SO EASY for anyone to plan ahead and reserve campsites.
