Great campsite, great location, campground bathrooms were a mess. Showers were clean, nice stocked store.

Colter Bay Campground was awesome. Anything you may want to do in Grand Tetons and/or Yellowstone is easily accessible from this location (just keep in mind that north Yellowstone - Mammoth Hot Springs/Tower-Roosevelt Junction/Lamar Valley - is close to 3 hours away). Jackson Lake Lodge is nearby. Colter Bay General Store/Showers/Laundry walkable from pretty much any site. Specific site (G137) review - campsite is like it's own little secluded private site which was a pleasant surprise, but is very much downhill from the main loop/parking area and can get tiresome if you have to carry a lot of heavy gear/equipment up and down for setup and take down.

Colter Bay Campground really exceeded our expectations. Our campsite was absolutely perfect, it had more than enough privacy and was close to the toilets. Colter Bay Village was absolutely wonderful. There was a small general store close to the campground entrance; there are pay showers and even a laundromat available, which was very convenient. The park staff was so nice and jolly and made our experience, at not just the campground but the park, enjoyable. Colter Bay Village is about a 30 minute drive to the south Yellowstone entrance (there's an additional 30 minutes to get to the main park area), which made it easy to see two national parks while staying at the same campground. Jenny Lake Road is close to the village and is worth the drive, the scenery is beautiful. Jackson is about an hour south from the park and has multiple grocery stores and gas stations. We loved our stay at Colter Bay and look forward to returning.

The most amazing little campground. Quiet enough to feel like we got away, but close enough to people to feel safe and protected and comfortable. Within walking distance to the bay, even if it is a bit removed from the more popular trails (which I quite liked).
