Fantastic location and sites but very overpriced. I paid half as much at Glacier last night!

The campground was very clean, and the available facilities around the visitor center were amazing! However, a sad thing was that the occupants of the nearby site did not respect the quiet time. They continue playing music and talking. We had a long trip to reach the national park and wanted to sleep, but we couldn't due to their noise. I complained to them, but they claimed that they had only passed a few minutes and kept talking. These days, when I visit campgrounds, I often encounter people who bring their routine into nature, without respecting those who want to enjoy the sounds of nature.

Bathrooms were clean, but did have problems with soap and paper towel dispenser. Tent site was nice and level.

Had 11 of us with 5 sites tent camping at the campground. Everything was great from the check-in process which went very smooth to the locations of our sites. The booking process was good but need to get on your summer dates as soon as they open. This was my 10x here and loved every stay. The location to the area is ideal and services at the camprground very good. The travel to the Tetons and Jackson is a great drive. It is also a doable drive for day trips to Yellowstone. Great place!

Colter Bay is the kind of place you write home about. My brother suggested Colter Bay on account that hes been here and raved about it. Extremely clean showers. Very descent camp bathrooms with running water!! Camper sink for gray water. Grocery store is a game changer. Lovely gift shop. Gas station on site. Everywhere is very kid friendly. We were here for ten days and didnt want to leave. Central to many attractions like Jenny Lake, Jackson, and bottom half of Yellowstone Park. And the view of the Tetons. The campground literally sits on the lake at the base of the mountains. Never got tired of waking up to that view. We will be back. Soon.

Very nice clean campsite and good amenities. Lights were not working in nearest bathroom, but fixed after a couple of days. Appreciate the stores, laundry and showers very much. However, it would have been nice if the grocery store stayed open another hour or two.

Campground was perfect in every way, except for annoying neighbors, but what are you gonna do.

We were in a tent only loop and it was a great camp site with plenty of trees. The restroom was nice, but could have used more counter space. The camp site was clean. We were warned of bears when checking in. We were not sure how real the threat was, but took all the precautions and it looked like everyone else did too. I think every camp has a bear box now, so there is no excuse to not store food, cooking utensils, and "smelly things" properly. One down side was the lack of garbage disposal. There was a dumpster at the bottom of the loop, but another one a little closer would have been nice. Colter Bay is a nice area with several trails, a visitor center, showers, and a laundromat. The showers were especially appreciated since the showers in Yellowstone (our next stop) were closed this season. We hiked around String Lake and Jenny Lake on this trip. I advise bypassing Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point which were extremely crowded and less than inspirational. The short nature trails at Colter Bay are recommended for everyone staying here. They are level and easy with great views of Jackson Lake. The hike to Hermitage Point is mostly level and offers a tremendous view of the Tetons and more of Jackson Lake.

The park is beautiful, but it seemed like the staff were not quite capable of keeping up with all the visitors. In the campground it was clear that the staff were overwhelmed a few times when we used the shower facilities - this got better towards the end of our two week stay. The toilet facilities in the camping loops were not kept very clean in comparison to what we have seen at the many other parks we have visited. We were also somewhat disappointed in how expensive the services were. We recognize that it is difficult to maintain facilities, but hopefully it is not a trend of our national parks that only financially well off visitors are able to use the services in the park. For example, renting kayaks for our family for a couple hours would have been about half the cost of buying a kayak (we know because we have recently purchased them for our use at home). All this said, the park is beautiful and we were able to find hikes which were not crowded, but we pretty much avoided the Jenny Lake area altogether because it was so packed with people. So, if you are looking for a remote, away from people retreat, this is probably not the place to do that.
