Site was large enough for our 30' fifth-wheel and pick-up to fit in. While there was some small muddy places, it was not a problem. Loved being on the side facing west and the trees shaded the fifth-wheel from the afternoon sun. We love staying in that spot.

Many of the campsites in Colter Bay are for RV's with little space to setup up a small tent.
Major Issues

We have been camping at Colter Bay campground for over 56 years, having missed two summer trips in that time. While we will continue to camp there, I find that the prices have escalated greatly in the past five years beyond inflation. This year, not only did the entrance price go up quite a bit from 2020, but there was a water charge of $5.00 added when there are no hookups at the sites. In addition, sales tax was added to the cost, which has never been added, overtly, before. It appears to me that the rule of supply and demand has been accelerated greatly in this campground and, probably all others in US national parks and campgrounds. We saw no additional services in the campground to justify the increase in prices and additionally the side we were on, for larger vehicles, added an additional non-generator loop. On top of that, when we set up in our campsite, there were three tents in the site that didn't belong there and the owners were not on site, in fact, they were in Yellowstone National Park. One of the attendants at the gate was able to get hold of the owners of the gear and have them take the tents to the next site that evening, making it seven or eight people at the site in violation of the rules for the campground. In addition to all that, there were three cars parked alongside the road belonging to folks who were camping in that loop. Nothing was done about this violation either. In spite of all of this, we had a great time, the weather was good and we caught some fish and we enjoyed being on and around Jackson Lake as we have for as long as we have been coming to the campground. As far as the price increase goes, I was given the runaround by both Grand Teton Lodge Company and the Park Service as to why the water cost was added as well as the addition of sales tax. And there certainly was no explanation on the web site, at least one that was plausible. I would like to get some explanation, but since this is government, probably will not.
