Beautiful campground, but tight spots!

We love camping in Grand Teton, especially at the Colter Bay campground. The tent sites in loop A are spacious and not too close to one another. It is also close to amenities at the Colter Bay Village in case you run out of firewood, ice, or ice cream after a long day of hiking. We hope to make this area a regular summer destination.

A very nice campground with a lot of amenities for comfort. The showers were $5, requested 15 mins, but it did not turn off at time. They were hot and clean! The grocery store was well stocked for forgotten items. I would not recommend doing all your shopping once you are there, for instance a loaf of wonder bread was $6. But very covenant for those forgotten items. There is horseback riding, dinner cruise, restaurants, hot coffee shop, gift shops, visitor's center and lake access right there. The campsite itself was nice a big, neighbors not right on top of you, restrooms nearby, and bear boxes in each site. I was stranded by my car....being by myself it was scary. After contacting the camp service they came right out and were extremely helpful to calm my nerves and help me get a tow and mechanic in Jackson. Disregarding my car trouble, my visit was great!!! Would stay here again!~

Nice campground. I stayed in the tent loop and the campsites were roomy with good separation from other sites. Best tasting water I had on my entire trip. The tent loop was dead quiet after 10pm and no generators at any time. Access to Jackson Lake is a plus, too.

The staff is nice, but spots are very close to everyone which is expected for this type of camping. Also, took my water jug out at 6 am on my way to the bathroom and came back to a man writing me a "warning" for leaving a container out. My tent was open and I was in the bathroom and it was water. When I approached him after using the bathroom and told him I was up, and it was water, the response was, "well we do not look at it". My water container was an issue but people had cases of water on picnic tables they walked by. I understand the need for people not familiar with bears, but is 6 am the best time to be walking onto people's campsites???? Prepare to wake up if you are not already. Bring plenty of water, wood, and such. The Coulter Bay store is pricey and shockingly Coulter Bay is dry. No water activities and almost no bay.

Kind of pricey for what you get in the car camping section, but great laundry facilities. Showers don't get that hot though.

Roomy campsite but fitting 23 ft. T. T. and tow vehicle in designated parking was tough. Deer wander through daily. Mature pine trees and shade are plentiful.
