Gift shop and grocery store were arms and legs better than Yellowstone. Bathrooms were also nice and always clean. Tent site (at least the one we had) was unusable, completely on a down slope. Had to put our tent between our place and neighbors instead. So many mosquitoes it was nearly miserable, but I guess that is probably expected.

This campground is showing its age but is still pretty well maintained. The restrooms were reasonably clean and stocked. Leveling your rig could be a challenge as the sites can be a bit sloped. My one word of advice would be to check your site selection thoroughly to be sure your door opens to your site. The roads leading to the sites are one way. Unfortunately I chose a site that opened to the road side. My mistake. All in all its a beautiful area and I would return.

Colter Bay campground was great, however the bathrooms were atrocious and not maintained.

Great location. Centrally located in the park. About 45 minutes from Jenny Lake and 45 from Yellowstone. Sites were clean and nice, everyone was respectful of quiet hours. Our site was hard to level on the gravel. Mosquitos were horrible. Bring lots of bug spray ! Bathrooms were ok. They didnt have soap and had leaky faucets with water all over the floor but were otherwise clean. 5$ to take a shower at the main general store area.

The main attraction of this campground is closer access to trailheads in the park and not having to leave the park at night. Also, it is right next to Jackson Lake so if you got a boat or kayak to launch, you don't have to go very far and you can beach your kayak for a quick walk back to your campsite. The negative part is the loop I was in was very crowded with campers and vehicles spanning entire sites leaving zero room between the sites. Also, the loops are one way narrow roads with parking of RVs on both side of the road, then a picnic table and fire pit within 50 feet of your vehicle. At least, there are enough trees to give the picnic table and fire pit some privacy. Very quiet at night. People respected the 10pm to 6am quiet hours and hardly any vehicles coming in after 10pm. Negative is many people had campfires when the air pollution from wild fires is already officially Moderate or worse, yellow and orange, so air quality was really bad. I suggest if you have an RV to run a small 12volt vehicle air cleaner with HEPA filtration inside the RV all night while you are sleeping for better air when air is hazy due to all of the wildfires in the West. Plenty of restrooms which are clean and not many people using them as many RV's have toilets and being during Covid, many people are using their RV toilets instead of public toilets, to greatly lower risk of getting Covid.

Roadside campsites were too narrow, restroom was repeatedly very dirty.
