Tightly packed campground and expensive. Paid the extra as had showers in the description yet had to pay another $5 on top for this.

Such an incredible campsite! I was worried it would feel too crowded, but my time there was so peaceful and relaxing. There was access to so many more amenities than I ever expected (general stores, restrooms, gas, etc) so you aren't totally roughing it if you don't want to. I was traveling solo as a woman with my dog, and I felt completely safe the entire time. I'd highly recommend it!

The campsite is nice with lots of shade and greenery and clean bathrooms! Be prepared for it to be busy if you go during peak times. There are also a lot of families, so kids were all over playing and having fun... and crying. It is not necessarily quiet but in a very family friendly way. I don't have kids so that is something I would like to know before I book a site if I am looking for quiet. The staff were WONDERFUL. I was on the road for a long time before I arrived and actually arrived a night early. One staff member helped me find dispersed camping for the night because the Colter Bay was sold out, talked me through instructions on how to get there, recommended good camp spaces withing the dispersed camping, and was just over the top helpful and kind. I don't remember her name but she had very short hair and her badge said New Zealand. Campsite is beautiful, there are a ton of activities close by and there are paths to the lake within the campsite. Great place to stay, just remember it is really busy and active during peak season.

Great spot overall. Nice amenities nearby. We found the spot to be pricey for what you get, shower access at the general store would be nice for the $50 price tag. The spots are not the most private, but they did the job. Be prepared for people coming in at all hours of night as well. All this considered I would visit again.

Camping area is beautiful and clean. The biggest problem however is the privacy. You are basically sharing your campsite with 3 other campsites. I understand that when these campsites were created, there was probably more privacy. However after several years of use and people cutting down bushes and brush there is essentially no privacy and you can hear/ see everything your neighbor is doing. They need to shut down every other campsite and let nature reclaim itself a bit and increase the foliage around the sites. However that will probably never happen. At least the sites were clean and they have several nice amenities around. Okay enough of my rant, enjoy the great outdoors!

Colter Bay is a great place to camp if you are visiting The Tetons. Colter Bay has a general store, a grocery store, public showers, a coin laundry and a marina.

Despite the number of sites, I was really surprised by and grateful for how quiet private it felt. I'd definitely stay at this site again.

Camp sites too close - shower should be included in camping fee
