We enjoyed the campground and had a fun, intergenerational camping experience.. The campsites, in a lodgepole pine forest, were on L&M loops were decent sized and there was room for 2 vehicles and 2, 4-person tents on both sites. Most loops allow generators, but some don't, I think M does not. We had no problem with noise in either.Colter Bay Beach looked really fun with frolicking swimmers and paddle boarders. I had hoped to do that but it did not come to fruition. It is required that you have a boat inspection for mussels before you launch a vessel in GTNP. The closest place to do so is right after Jackson Lake Junction, I believe. Look it up to before you get there. Then, you need an aquatics sticker that you acquire at the visitor center, which is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., so plan ahead. The General Store at Colter Bay offers food items that you might crave-donuts, cookies, sandwich fixings, espresso, ice cream, and high-end, likely unnecessary sporting paraphernalia in the sporting goods shop. Do buy bear spray if you don't have it, and please, carry it with you.We have a river raft and did a couple of floats. That is not necessary for enjoying the park. Check out Oxbow Bend for sure, the beach at Colter Bay, a hike to the ponds. Smell the forest, see the flowers and wildlife, and be in the moment. You will be assisted for that state of mind because there is lousy cell service in the park.

Nice campground inside the park. The sites on Loop L were a bit tight for larger campers. It was difficult to get level. However, the other loops may have more level sites.
