the campsite N299 has special designed gravel bad for setup tend, it's slop to one side, my wife said sleep on it feel like keep rolling to the lower side. I believe not all site like this, as I camp in this camp site for 3 days, unfortunately I book late, everyday need to change to different site. other two was ok,

We had a great time in site number 285, Colter Bay Campground. Nice to be able to run a generator to replenish batteries as it was overcast and rainy most of our trip so our solar keep up. Convenient potable water available as well as dump station. Despite what others have said, we found the site to be fairly level. Showers are available near the visitor center but at a cost of $5. The Colter bay area is great to explore, but Jenny Lake is a must see. Get there early as its a popular destination and parking is limited. Take the time to slowly drive around the park, we saw grizzlies, moose, elk, deer, fox and coyote. We were limited on areas we could take our dog hiking, Ranger advised rule of thumb, if you can take a car there you can take a dog. We hiked to Hidden falls and Inspiration starting from Jenny Lake marina - well worth the 6 mile out & back round trip. You can take a boat across the lake either round trip or one way. We'll be back, perhaps in the fall hoping for less rainy weather.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Colter Bay has lots offer on site. A local grocery store, laundry mat, showers and restaurant. Theres rentals for water sports such as kayaking, canoes, and a boat tour. The swim beach is great too!

Colter Bay is a wonderful and affordable campground in the Grad Tetons. So glad we were able to stay here for our recent trip! Book early - they fill up fast!

The location is great but the camping spots leave something to be desired. The ground was extremely unlevel. We had to use every one of our blocks to get it even close to level (still not perfect). Additionally, the one way streets make it nearly impossible to get the camper in the spot with the correct side facing away from the street. Especially if you drive a larger truck and cant do a figure 8 to reposition the camper. Finally, the bathroom area leaves much to be desired. No way to shower. Its an odd set up. Not sure Id pick this campground again. Go with the full hook up sites if you have a camper/RV.

We enjoyed being right in the park so that our drive to the attractions wasnt far. It was cloudy on the mountains until our last day so we were thankful to get some of those classic shots. Snake River turnout, Schwabacher landing, Mormon Row and Teton turnout made some beautiful photos. We hiked the trail over to Inspiration point and Hidden Falls at Jenny lake and then took the shuttle back. Its a better value to buy round trip tickets but we were there before the shuttle opened for the day.
