This is the fourth year we have stayed at this given site in our pop-up camper that has pop-out beds on each end. We very much enjoy this site. It is relatively easy to access and it is next to a toilet (an important feature for this 89 year--old man). .For the past 24 years, I think there is only one year that we did not make it to Colter Bay -- usually accompanied by our daughter and granddaughter. The ladies especially like the availability of a shower at Colter Bay. For me, I like the access to facilities -- to include restaurants so I no longer have to plan and cook meals. No trip is complete without campfire S-mores!. I'm old enough to remember bears even standing up on cars along the road for handouts.

The last few days the campground at Colter Bay was open this year, the trash cans in the restrooms near our campsite were not regularly emptied and trash was overflowing on the floor. In previous years, good service was maintained until the campground closed. At least the restroom here remained open. At the Gros Ventre campground, also operated by the same concessionaire, the restroom was closed a day early with "Sorry for the inconvenience" as the only explanation posted on the door!

Grand Teton NP and Colter Bay is such a scenic area. Colter Bay campground and facilities really need a renovation. Compared to the campgrounds in the national park to the north Colter bay campground needs a lot of work. Site 85D asphalt is very uneven and broken up, it was difficult to properly level our 15 ft trailer. 85D is right near a bathroom. Also short walk to Jackson lake. The bathrooms are serviceable but both men's and women's smelled like sewer. The women's bathroom did not have any hooks or shelves for toiletries and the sink and floor were too dirty for my wife to sit things on. Seemed to be the same at all the bathroom locations. Dishwashing station is very gross too and not easy to actually clean dishes. The shower facility also really needs to be updated. It really is disappointing that Grand Teton is such a beautiful park but the campground and surrounding facilities need so much work.

Very nice campground that was nicely wooded so you don't feel so close to your neighboring campers.

This was my first time up to this area of the country. Coulter Bay is a beautiful campground. I only stayed one night so I wasnt there long but would definitely stay here again if the chance arises. The location is perfect for what I needed.
