We planned to stay just one night on our way back from Yellowstone but loved it so much we stayed another. Out of our eight-day trip through the Tetons and Yellowstone, this was by far our favorite campsite.

Large dedicated tent pad with gravel fill. Walk to beach was further than I expected and the many unofficial trails behind the campsite meant people strolled by often. Individual bear boxes and water close by, bathrooms were also fairly close without being too close. We had great cell service with Verizon.

Check in people were amazingly nice and cheerful. Great to have showers close by that are so clean.

Our visit to Coulter Bay was very nice. Upon arriving to the gate check in, we were greeted by a friendly, helpful and humorous gentleman. The information on how to locate our sight in loop D was helpful. Our sight was clean and reasonably level only requiring us to use level blocks on one side of our trailer. The fresh water is available to fill at several locations in the loop. Plan to have a longer hose to do so if you need to fill water before or after you pull into your spot. We didn't have as much time as we would have liked to explore the campground as we would have liked but we did see a trail to walk to the picnic area by the water. There is a convenient gas station and store at the main entry. The visitors center is very nice with ample parking. The dump station is less than desirable IMO. To access the 2 tandem dump spots you must do a U turn to get to them. This wouldn't be an issue if you are the only one in line. If there is anyone in line ahead of you, you must drive down the road to do a 3-4 point back up turn around to get in the line to dump. We were 4th in line and it took over 45 minutes to reach the dump station. I mention this so you can plan accordingly. We would visit again and recommend to our friends.

Campground was beautiful, clean, quiet and most campsites fairly private and surrounded by trees. I would recommend and visit again!

Despite being completely full, the campground never felt crowded. It had great access to the lake. Bathrooms were reasonably clean. Store and visitors center are close and convenient. Good ranger programs. Hope to go again.
