We liked the spacious sites and the quiet area. 3rd time here and will definitely be back. Yellowstone, Jackson, Tetons and lakes all relatively close.

We loved our trip to Colter Bay Campground. We were in Loop K, which is a generator loop. Loop K also had some larger sites and we were easily able to fit our 30 ft trailer and our pick up truck in our pull through spot, which I was a little nervous about. There was also a well labeled sign indicating a trail that would take you to the beach-- it was about a 5 min walk (10-15 mins with our two year old walking) through the forest on an easy, narrow trail. Wow, the beach area at Jackson Lake off of Loop K was just breathtaking! It is all rocks though, so definitely wear water shoes or sandals. Our kids had a fantastic time catching the little minnows in the lake. We also did the Lakeshore Trail right from that trail to the lake, and our 6, 8 and 2.5 year old were able to walk it, albeit slowly. The sites themselves are very woodsy. Though the cars are quite close bumper to bumper, the actual campsites are very private with lots of trees. People were respectful of their generators, only running them for short periods as needed. We didn't hear constant generators running all day long. The bathrooms in our loop were fine for toilets and sinks, but have to go all the way to the General Store area for showers. However, the showers are really nice and I found it easy to shower the kids in the handicapped stall. $15 for a family of 5, but no time limit. They also take credit card. General Store had one of the nicer tourist shops imo. The walk to the general store area was a little too far for our family from Loop K, though definitely doable for adults or older kids. We tried scooters but the walkway/path is really gravely so not ideal for scooters and didn't go the entire way so we had to ride along side the campground main road for some of it-- we ended up driving more often than not. The only negative to the location is that it is 45mins- hour to get to downtown Jackson, but I don't think having the access to the beach could be beat. We definitely like to be back.

Happy with the bear-proof boxes for your food coolers. Wash stations were convenient and clean. Staff at check in were helpful and friendly. Loved our site.

Unfortunately the Lake is extremely low due to drought conditions. Coulter was in the process of closing down the marina because of this. However the lake and the Tetons are a once in a lifetime.. Loved it!
