Clean facilities, quiet, end of season sales at store, Sept was great time of year to visit despite forest fire smoke affecting distant view .

We loved camping at Colter Bay because we were in the center of Tetons, plus there are so many amenities available such as grocery store, showers and restaurant.

The man at the check-in booth, when we first arrived at the park, was absolutely wonderful. He was enthusiastic and welcoming, and after a long drive to the campground, he was the perfect welcoming committee! The picnic/swimming beach was beautiful. We were in tent-only sites, and the trees helped keep campground noise down. Definitely want to go to this campground again!

I have been coming to Colter Bay for more than a decade. I love the accessibility to both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Besides hiking and photographing wildlife and landscapes, we try to add something new each year. Last year was Rafting on the Snake River and this year a Chuckwagon dinner out of Jackson. Always finding ways to explore out to different trails and parts of the park; this year Gros Ventre Slide, Shane Cabin and the Taggert Lake trail. Must go to places include Schwabacher Landing, Cunningham Cabin, Mormon Row, Jenny Lake and the ferry.Pizza at Leeks Marina is a wonderful night out from camp. The services at Colter Bay are excellent and reasonably priced.

Gorgeous, quiet campground near the heart of GTNP. Colter Bay is a reasonable drive from Jackson and much of the hiking in the park. This campground was a much better option than driving into the park each day from a surrounding city or trying to find lodging in Jackson. Staff was friendly and welcoming!

Your reservation system could be better served with 50% of sites reservation only, not all. We had to change campsites 4 nights because we couldn't get the dates in a row. And we weren't the only ones. Many of us played hopscotch from site to site. Plus I was double-booked, then double-billed, had to cancel that, and didn't get 100% of my money back. The staff at the gate was the best experience because they were amazingly helpful. They informed us it is a problem for them too. For campers, it would be nice if you can have 50% of our sites, First Come First Serve. We understand you still make money if people don't show up, but here is the thing, your stores, and other rec activity programs lose out with no-shows. We are regular campers and are seeing a trend of empty campsites night after night.
