One of my all-time favorite campgrounds! Beautiful views, clean facilities, and generally quite even outside of quiet hours.

Nice campsite, the canyon is right on the other side of the trees.

As others have noted, the shower facilities at the entrance need some serious management attention. Most are broken and out of order. The one shower that worked in the men's room appeared to not have been cleaned from day-to-day. With that one exception, the rest of our camping experience at the North Rim was terrific. The sites have plenty of room. The bathrooms in the campground itself were about the cleanest I've ever seen in a national park. Kudos to the staff there. There's still a campfire ban, but that just allows you time to go watch the sun set and moon rise over the canyon. Note that from the campground, you can't really see the main part of the canyon; you'll need to walk a short distance on a trail or go to the lodge area where there are lots of places to look out into it. You can walk from the campground to the North Kaibab trailhead. The camp store is well stocked and the nearby visitor center and gift store are worth visiting.

Visited North Rim on opening week. Campground was amazing. Sites are spaced out well. Beautiful canyon views from site #11.
Excellent campground in the pines. Great hikes around the rim to view points. One great hike is the Cave Springs hike. It is short shaded and has a weep spring. Campstore has wood and food for purchase.
The campground is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and in a great location! We stayed at site 11 right on transept canyon, and we loved it. We were in an RV, and there was plenty of room. Water and restrooms are close to every site, and it was a nice short hike to get to the lodge to get food and even drinks at the saloon. The general store at the campground is excellent and very well stocked. The ranger who checked us in was very friendly and helpful.
While we were there, our son cut himself with a pocketknife. It looked like it needed stitches and with no urgent care centers to go to, we called the non-emergency dispatch number. They sent a ranger and EMT right away, and they took care of it on the spot. They said that's what they do regularly because there's nothing nearby. And they were fantastic with our son. Everyone really seems to love their job and sharing the park with visitors.
Super peaceful experience at the North Rim Campground. The on-staff employees, both at the check-in booth as well as at the general store, were helpful and⦠funny! I felt a strong/relaxed culture of customer focus with everyone I met.

Wow! Just finished a 7000 mile round trip and have to say this was a highlight of all my stops! Just unimaginable beauty!! I hiked to Bright Angel Point and I felt truly alive. I had spectacular sunsets and incredible sunrises. If you can go, GO!! Epic... To be continued...

North Rim Campground is an excellent point to start hiking around and into the Grand Canyon.

Even though I tried to book this campground months ahead, I was too late. But I checked the website periodically and a beautiful spot became available! We had a view of the canyon! It was quiet, clean, lovely!! We wish we had left ourselves more time to simply enjoy the campsite. The showers were clean and we were able to enjoy dinner at the lodge (another lucky reservation!). I highly recommend this campground. Note that the North Rim is remote, but also wonderfully quiet and beautiful.
