This is our first time visiting the North Rim and this campground. Both were exceptional. We loved the higher elevation (i.e. cooler temps), forest, and hiking/viewing options. We visited the camp store a few times, once for an essential and a couple for ice cream! Shower facilities and restrooms were clean. The restrooms near our camp were closed, which was slightly inconvenient, but nothing worth complaining about. We'll be back as often as possible.

Beyond disappointed. This was my 6th trip to the North Rim Campground. Booked 4 nights but left after only 1. Bathroom near my campsite, out of order. Water spigot near my campsite, out of order. Showers working but cold water only, so basically out of order as well. If fact, I had to tell staff what time the shower rooms closed as they seemed to have no idea. This was my favorite campground anywhere; now doubtful I will ever go back....

We enjoyed our stay so much! The Widforss Trail is absolutely gorgeous and we highly recommend it! Bright Angel Point is great too. We were at Tent Site #11 and we were very comfortable. The Camp Host was attentive and very friendly. We also appreciated the installation of a very nice vaulted toilet when the actual restrooms were out of commission. We hope to return ASAP!

Theres nothing like waking up in your tent, and then just casually walk towards the rim and watch the sunrise.

All the sites were nice. The tall trees protected us from the sun and wind to some extent. The tent campground restrooms were out of order, so it meant a bit of a hike to the other camp ground but no big deal. This site is very convenient for all activities and hikes and is only yards from the rim.

Staff is very courteous and helpful. Camp store is well stocked. The tent sites are well spaced with level tent pads (easily the nicest tent sites I've seen). If you're looking for some seclusion, I highly recommend the hike from camp out to Uncle Jim's Overlook (I didn't see another person for about 4 hours).

We stayed in the tent-only area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and offered to switch our site since there was quite a bit of rain that morning and some puddling on the tent pad. It dried fairly quickly so we didn't have to switch. It was nice that they offered though. Very much appreciated. There were only vault toilets with no lighting in the tent-only area which wasn't a problem for us. The building with showers wasn't too far away and we were also able to use the restrooms in the main campground area if we needed a flush toilet or sinks. The laundry and showers were reasonably priced ($1.50) and there was a change machine if you're out of quarters.

Peaceful and quiet. View of the Canyon is very good. Most campers at this campground stayed for one night, but everyone set up and torn down their camps quietly and efficiently. We stayed 5 days - good hiking trails for a 5 day trip. Area could have a few more trails as the canyon and surrounding terrain is beautiful. We would stay longer if there were more hiking/walking/viewing opportunities.

Out of this world. Spent our first night on the south rim then took the drive up north. What am experience. Less crowded and the campsite we had was great. Recommend the western facing tent site single digits and the lower to mid-teena at the main campground. Amazing views from there. Hiking in the area is superb especially out to Cape Final trailhead. Had a great evening at the lodge enjoying a beverage and eating an awesome dinner. Everything was perfect.

Campsite was really nice, but the campground left much to be desired. There was no restroom facilities open. Only 1 pit toilet for the entire campground. There was 8 showers, but only 1 worked. Again, not cool.Rangers passed the buck to say the showers were the responsibility of concessionaire. Old and not parts available. That is not a very good excuse for a park that is only open 6 months during the year. It leaves 6 months to ensure that all services are working during the season! The lodge was beautiful, but again, the services it offers were not open during my visit. Limited restaurant hours and limited bar hours. Seems like they want to discourage you from visiting.

North Rim campground is one of the best in the west. Large site sizes, large ponderosa pines. Close to the rim with numerous trails nearby for hiking and biking. The campground store is extremely well stocked with food, camping supplies and gifts. Best of all, no crowds.

We just LOVE the North Rim. Our campsite was lovely and the sites were clean and well managed. The rangers and neighbors were very friendly and helpful! It was difficult getting reservations for dinner if you want to splurge so make these 3 weeks in advance. The weather was much cooler and rainier than we'd anticipated for a late July visit so be prepared. The camp store was well stocked with items which was nice in case you needed a few things.
We lamented not having the shower and laundromat in service as it had in the past, closed due to cover. Luckily we do own a camp shower so we were prepared for that.
Note we did have some issues with cell phone reception but I had not anticipated any coverage. It seemed our campsite had some issues but when we walked to another the reception was better. The ranger told us the edge/tip had a T mobile receptor in case you have T mobile.

Beautiful location. Climate nice though afternoon thunderstorms seem unpredictable. Problems with site:All tent sites are some distance from car making gear transfer more cumbersome. Very problematic during thunderstorm. Tent pad is made from red dust which adheres to all equipment, shoes, etc. When it rains, dust becomes red paste.Showers and laundry were not open for the season as of July 11th. Camp registration said that the camp host just hadn't opened them. Positive: Nice staff and excellent general store and bathroom.

This campsite is incredible! The tents sites are close to the rim with easy trail access. They have a good base set up with a picnic table and fire pit and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It is just a short walk to the camp store. There is plenty to explore by hiking and driving the North Rim area. Do be aware of wildlife if driving it or out of the park at night. We saw numerous deer, elk, and bison near the road on our way in. The Aspens there in the fall are gorgeous!

A beautiful location! Alot quieter than the South rim, The Watchman campground was a happy surprise, very spacious in the tent section.
