It's a beautiful campground with a well-stocked store. We hiked Rim to Rim to Rim, starting at south K so it was strategic because it's close to the North Kaibab Trailhead. There are hot showers and a laundry .

Our tent site was fantastic, #7, plenty of space, nice area with soft dirt to place it. Good picnic table, surrounding trees. Just beautiful. On the down side, though, the washroom at the tent sites was not working. We had to use a single pit toilet for all the tenters, or walk to another washroom. The pit toilet was clean, with hand alcohol dispenser for cleansing. The water spigot was working, so we could get water to do dishes, at least. The showers also were not working well. They were down to one shower each, for men and women, with a long wait.We made reservations ahed of time for dinner at the Grand Canyon Lodge, it is the most stunning lodge ever. Easy to make reservations on the website. They were having trouble, reservations were running an hour behind. The food was good, looked like the offerings at the cantina next door were good, too. We ended up cancelling a couple of the reservations and cooked at our campsite. The camp store was amazing, has absolutely everything you might need, and very reasonably priced, no gouging. Seriously, we bought oil for the car, two awesome camp chairs, and ice. Never mind the plethora of food and souvenirs available for purchase!More ranger presence would have been nice. It seemed very limited, they had one evening program at the campground and. 1-2 talks, no walks at the lodge. Maybe it was just too early in the season (June 9-13). Ranger walks are such an integral part of the national park experience, I missed them.Website was easy to use, we got reminders about our reservation, which we made 6 months in advance. We were so lucky to get reservations for the campground, we felt blessed to be there.

This was our favorite camp ground on a multi state trip. The tent sites were attractive and comfortable. Restrooms were clean and convenient. Disappointing that showers/ laundry were closed but we had seen that on the website and were prepared. The general store was well stocked. It was nice to be so close to the trail to the lodge and have canyon views so close!
