Showers overflowing, unclean, not enough toilets for the large families. Really roughing it. Felt like a daycare center. There should be section for single and pairs who do not want experience this child day care center where there is no peace and quiet. We come from a noisy city to try to experience nature and all you hear all day are yammering kids. No privacy. Jammed in like sardines fighting for the shower and laundry. Ugh

Recently stayed at North Rim Campground tent camping. It was clean spacious and well maintained. Very peaceful and scenic location. Helpful staff identified the many hiking options to view the canyon. Restrooms nearby and clean. Shower & laundry available, but some distance away.

Well laid out campground, well maintained, clean and easy paved pull through sites. Odd hours for generators--7-9. Disturbing. Too bad they are allowed during peaceful times when most people are getting ready for the day or winding down. The shuttle to and from the Lodge was an unexpected perk.

We first came to the North Rim in July, 2011. Again in August, 2024, we brought our family and friends to experience the canyon again. We stayed 6 days. There is a ton to do; hiking biking, relaxing. A lot of the amenities are the same from 2011. The new thing for us were the flush toilet bathrooms. A very welcome upgrade from the pit toilets of the past. They were always clean which I honestly wasn't expecting for a campground and at least for our part of the campground people seemed respectful enough to keep it pretty clean after use. Again and sorry fellow humans, I wasn't expecting that either. We stayed in sites 65, 68, 70, 72, and 26. We had a large group. Campsites were spacious enough for a couple of tents at each site and the parking pads suited our needs. They tended to fit larger vehicles than rated on the site. However, some of the spots had very tight exits where pulling out trailers is difficult to impossible. Site 68 fit that description. If you are looking to travel here in August, I would be wary. It is monsoon season in Arizona and even though the forecast didn't call for rain, it rained every afternoon for a few hours. Temps would drop from the mid to upper 70s down to mid to low 50s. If you're tent camping, making sure they don't leak. I did not enjoy the cold rain at all. Most of us were not prepared for that. So again, be prepared. Maybe it doesn't rain for you, but it did for us all 6 days. All in all, I would for sure highly recommend the North Rim Campground, minus the rain. It was a great experience and the best way to see the Grand Canyon. As an aside, I don't know if I could recommend the lodge food. I heard it was flavorless and terrible. That might explain why when we visited the lodge a couple of times, there were very few people in the restaurant. Happy Camping!

Spacious area for tent camping or an RV. For an RV choose a site L or R parking to accommodate. Bathrooms with flush toilets and sinks are spaced in the area. Quick access to the rim and the small grocery store, Water spouts in the campground are plentiful. High elevation and dry air - hydrate. Good experience.

Clean, quiet and relaxing. Friendly and helpful staff. Even though the campground was full, it didn't feel cramped. The only drawback was that the website did not mention that the showers/laundry were closed due to water restrictions. Wish I would have known that ahead of time. The sponge bath in the men's room wasn't too awkward. The views from the lodge are impressive. There's a large viewing lounge in the lobby that opens to patios on both sides. Probably the most comfortable place to enjoy the north rim.Driving to the eastern overlooks is also worthwhile. Bring a chair, find a nice spot, and soak in the views while enjoying a cool drink. The short hikes ( less than a mile) listed in the pocket map are easy. The Cape Final trail wasn't exactly easy and took me about 4 hours round trip. Note: I'm closer to 70 yrs old than 60.I most definitely recommend a visit to the north rim.

A very nice, spacious pull through site near the bathrooms . Had about 1 bar of Verizon at my site, had to walk down to the rim to get 2 bars.Showers were not working, and were far away from the sites anyway, which was inconvenient.

Peace and quiet at the north rim. Only a 2 minute stroll to watch beautiful sunsets at the edge of the canyon. Loved having real bathrooms with running water. And they were very clean too. Campground staff was super friendly. General store is a short stroll from the campsite and had a good selection of beer and ice. What more could you ask for :-)Only complaint was that the showers were not open. But not many places Ive camped even have showers, so couldnt deduct a star for that . Plus when youre camping, no showers is part of the experience, right?

Our bad review regards the campground in general since its a lottery where you only know the result when you are at the tent site location. In our case tent site 77 and tent site 102. We stayed at site 102 at the first of 2 days, at 102 the surface is easy to put in our tent pegs and we enjoyed the camping there.Since the campground was sold out, we for our second night had to move to tent site 77. We moved our stuff to tent site 77 but the ground surface at this site is small stones/gravel and too hard to hammer our pegs in to the surface of the ground therefor we could not put up our tent and had to leave the campground. Why this large variation in the different sites in the surface of the two tent sites?Additionally we learn at the first night that there was plenty of sites ( more then 10 in loop D) which were unused even the campground was full and sold out. We asked the staff if we could change to another site but not possible since every site was sold/reserved even we would expect similar number of no shows for second night. Its a shame that those no show sites arent released some how. But we couldnt count on getting a no show site since some campers sometimes arrive quite late. Accordingly we decided to cancel our booking of 77 and leaving Bryce NP instead. (Unfortunately we are NOT allowed to write a review of the site causing our cancellation so we learned never cancel a reservation at NP campgrounds since you will not be able to leave a reason nor a review).FYI this our third visit to Bryce NP and our previous experience with the various old campgrounds have been fantastic. Shame that those improved new camp sites are a lottery where some sites are toooo hard and basically useless for tent campers. Some of the deciding people should go and try to put up a tent at hard rock of site 77!

A gem in the ponderosa pines. Remote with nice hikes and beautiful views from the North Rim. Much cooler temps and less people visiting than South. Lodge is in hiking distance and was a great day trip. Showers, laundry, and decent sized camping store available.

We had an overall positive experience with the layout and amenities of the campground, helpful staff and of course, the beautiful scenery! We will definitely come back. The reason I rated this only three stars is because the campground showers were inexplicably and unexpectedly closed for the season during our stay. Because the North Rim is remote there was nowhere for us to shower after a hot and dusty hike down into the canyon. This was not ideal.
